Re: Going it Alone

I've been going regularly full time since 2005 (after seeing just a couple of films on the off-chance in 2004) and over that time I've gradually gone from nodding acquaintance to making some excellent friends. So if I feel like socialising I can but I'm also comfortable wandering around on my own. O...

Re: Halloween All Nighter

My old man was up in London so picked my ticket up from the cinema - so they know it's on but obviously can't get the website sorted!

Picked up The Loved Ones for £2.50 in the charity shop today. Missed it at FF last year so now I can catch up at my leisure!

Have to agree with you on this one. I finally struggled to the end of 'Harbour' but I was a bit underwhelmed with it in comparison to his others.

Re: what are you reading?

Okay, finished the Dispatcher - look out for it next year, it's really good - and having whipped through the latest Christopher Fowler Bryant and May book, I'm onto The Harbour by John Ajvide Lindqvist, which is weirdly creepy and, again, beautifully written and translated.

Re: what are you reading?

Working my way through the books of Ryan David Jahn - Acts of Violence (which I think even won and award recently), Low Life and now I have a proof copy (get me!) of The Dispatcher. Although they are not horror, they do have horrific elements about them and are so gripping you end up whizzing throug...

Re: Last Exorcism

I like exorcism movies and I like "fake doc" movies - so I was always going to enjoy this... the ending worked fine for me, although a lot of people in America had a problem with it too when it opened last week. Same here - I thought there was a little "To The Devil A Daughter" vibe going on at the...

Re: VIDEO NASTIES DOCUMENTARY / DISCUSSION

Thought this was an excellent documentary - well done Jake and Marc! Martin Barker is a star and a very brave man. I only hope there are more out there like him - I have a feeling we are going to need them.

Great to see the short films back but I wish they had been split over the 5 days like they used to be. I wish I'd had a dad like Papa Wrestling.

Re: The Pack

I love the French and their bonkers films! This had great mad characters and a grubby feel and very attractive toothy mole men - what's not to love?
