It's just the way I watched it, I compared to a lot of family roles I've seen within my own family, the alpha male who goes to work and comes home expecting tea on the table with the woman staying at home tending to the house and raising the children. That's a very simple way of looking at it though...
I really do love Ti Wests films and this was just excellent, it had some great character building and I'm even willing to let go of the fact that the "Ghost" looked like something out of Goosebumps. (Not that there's anything wrong with Goosebumps!)
The 3D in this film is pointless and a let down at the same time, the movie itself was a good bit of fun. It doesn't add anything to the Original movie nor does it take anything away from it either.
Good opening movie, the atmosphere was dripping with tension in some places. A little let down by the performance of Guy Pearce and the CG Creatures, though they still looked good. The original is much more creepy in my opinion.
This movie was a HUGE let down for me, the first two thirds of the movie are brilliant and do a good job of getting you to sympathize and like the characters but the third act ruins it. Such a shame.

I'm not sure why this movie was at the festival, it just didn't fit at all. While I found the premise at the start to be engaging and somewhat funny the third act was totally stupid and pointless.
