Re: Chillerama

ugh, that was just awful. don't exactly understand who is target audience - fourteen-year-olds? i don't mind anarchic humor, convention/genre twisting and mounting from behind, but... this was so low brow. what interests me is whether they're gonna pull off this roadshow with this movie as was annou...

Re: Kill List

probably would enjoyed it more if it came subtitled :D i kinda liked it, but when the director on the stage said sth, along the lines "yeah, we're gonna do the q&a, and you gonna ask what was going on, and i am not gonna help u with that" or similar, i though - oh yeah? you're so sure ...

Re: films we just saw

saw Insidious on Dublin's screening. thought it was total mistake. Wan and Whannell seem to be applying the same method to making movies regardless of the subgenre. and those dialogues, oh my...

Re: I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE

ewww... this one one castrated movie. it's been few years since i saw the original, but i don't remember final act of I Spit On Your Grave being one dumb gory titillation. the set pieces of heroine's revenge wouldn't be out of place in a Saw franchise and that is my problem with the remake. either y...

Re: Alien vs Ninja

so surprised that i liked this one. last year i couldn't take VG vs FG and stormed off the cinema after like 20 minutes or so. this time i quite enjoyed this. maybe there was some more concern about so called plot (nevermind how thin), instead of focus on gushers of blood standing for half of the mo...

Re: The Tortured

hmm... atrocious? deplorable? complete and utter crap? if one saw one movie from Twisted Pictures he saw them all. The same stylistic approach to movie making as the Saw franchise. the same colour palette, the same style of visual effects, the same crappy twists. done by the numbers, numbers from &q...

Re: Primal

it was the movie that showed first of the recurrent themes this year - bad, bad, bad dialogue (and i don't think that half of this was intentional). completely ludicrous actions of characters (some with intent, some rather not, again). but action sequences were quite dynamic and that slug thing at t...

Re: Isle of Dogs

for me absolutely atrocious biggest mistake of this year's FF. plot-wise it was like one of the poorest Umberto Lenzi's gialli, over the top acting and good dose of misogynist crap - heroine dreams of being beaten by her husband, only to wake up and get smashed by masked attacker. and also scene, fi...

have to admit that I quite enjoyed the 3D effects, although blurring annoyed me a bit. but the film itself was crap - dull story, wooden acting. if it wasn't for the gimmick it should be flushed down the toilet. i can't see any future in 3D movies - how many of them one can see? - staging the unnece...

have to agree. Pigeon was ok. the one with guy writing letter to his parents was almost decent. but overall? duh, lame.

I had not seen any of the hype for this film before seeing it and people who have aren't stupid. but i think you can't deny that Martyrs stirred some controversy, before it was shown at FF. IIRC even (pardon my poor memory) whoever was introducing the film on stage said something along the lines &q...

i liked it a lot. very good survival horror - nicely done (except maybe for the archery scene), but IMO it would be scary/ier if it wasn't a homage to the '70s flicks, but instead set up in current time.

Too many 1 posts - smells too much of orchestrated publicity... the same viral marketing they did with Shrooms. hated Shrooms, but this was even worse - plain stupid. can't think of a reason to show it during FF. dull, for kids, completely unoriginal. as for Q&A - maybe it's my poor english, bu...
