Re: Bristol
Presumably the usual Frightfest habits are fine, e.g. taking in bags, food and drink etc? First time to Bristol event, usually do the London edition.

Re: Bristol
Thanks jonbly - I usually go to the London event, but I'm keeping my options open until I can sort out time off with work....

Cheers jonbly!
There is no option to reserve a specific seat it appears, but this maybe normal....

Re: 2014 All nighter
Interesting line-up. Wonder who the guests will be? Any suggestions?
Seems to be a later starting time this year - wonder if another film may be added later?

Re: 2014 All nighter
Mixed feelings about the Halloween event reverting back to being an allnighter - it will help keep demand down, but trying to sleep in a London hotel during the daytime before and/or after the event is always a bit of a nightmare! Any news on tickets? Usually they're out towards the end of September...

Frightfest Thanks
A belated but heartfelt massive thank you to Alan, Paul, Ian and Greg for organising this year's event! I think it would be easy to overlook how much effort goes into setting this all up and ensuring that it runs as smoothly as possible, so hopefully all the happy faces over the long weekend go some...

Re: The Signal
Enjoyed this one - and a twist ending I really didn't see coming. A few loose ends have been left, but perhaps that is to set the story up for a sequel. Entertaining, ticks along nicely and has an element of intelligence combined with spectacle, making an impact not far off that of The Matrix , albe...

Re: V/H/S Viral
A mixed bag as to be expected - once again the wraparound segment was the weakest. Dante The Great was OK, not great, not bad. Parallel Monsters was my favourite segment and I would like to explore that universe further. Bonestorm I started off not liking, but as the segment progressed I like it mor...

Re: Alleluia
A love story of tragedy and murderous obsession. I'm not sure I was 100% happy with the ending (nor did we have to wait to the post-credits?!) - I probably would have preferred something even darker. The film maintained my interest, but probably less so than Calvaire . 8 / 10 I thought the situation...

Re: Deadly Virtues
A psychological thriller that surprisingly didn't take advantage of the kinky elements displayed in the trailer and also eschewed the more graphic content of other home invasion movies for something more unsettling and emotionally driven. The plot is intriguing and maintains interest and has a twist...
Re: Another
Very stylised, bewildering, trippy and, at times, student-like, clearly influenced by the likes ofArgento. Strangely reminded me a bit of Eggshells . 6.5 / 10 for effort. I must confess to being confused by the ending, not knowing whether good or evil prevailed (if either), and if so, how. Maybe I w...
Re: Home
Home takes an oft-told tale and puts a new spin on it, even featuring a surprising twist part-way through. Some suspenseful sequences and jump scares help the slow-burning mystery unfold in an engrossing way, although parts of the story are hokey and illogical. 7.5 / 10
Re: Faults
A low key but engrossing psychological trip into the world of cults. Well made and slightly chilling, especially given the ongoing existence of cults and also religious extremism. 8.5 / 10 I saw many of the twists coming from fairly early on unfortunately, except for the parents dying and I had pegg...

Re: Open Windows
Nothing like what I was expecting, being a crazy, techno thrill ride that twists and turns, although perhaps it is a little too clever for its own good and it will be interesting to see how it fares on repeat viewings. Nevertheless, entertaining while it lasts. 8 / 10 ***Possible spoiler*** I though...
