Re: films we just saw
I'd recommend The St Francisville Experiment as much better than Blair Witch. Interesting, I've not heard of that one. I'll have to find a copy! In terms of found footage horror films, I'm hard pressed to find one I prefer to Blair Witch. Although it suffered from over-hype at the time of release, ...

Re: Genre guidelines
I admit I'm a bit of an outlier: I embrace the grey areas when it comes to genre and enjoy making non-standard categorisations. It may be a personality thing: some people dislike ambiguity, and others live for it. Falling in the second category, I'm always bemused by people who argue that Silence Of...

Re: films we just saw
Saw a few horrors films this week: Wake Wood - Neither brilliant nor terrible: a workaday Monkey's Paw derivative with some nice old-fashioned Hammer gore and a strong, if overtheatrical, performance from Spall. Some of the transformational/body horror visual effects were very convincing, both in co...

Re: anyone else tired of crappy remakes ?
Hang on—what? Groundhog Day's a remake? Tell me more—the google does nothing. The DeadlySpawn wrote:Yep, steer clear of anything from Platinum Dunes and you should be fine. Remakes aren't always a bad thing, Groundhog Day was a remake, and that's one of the funniest films ever made.

Yeah, I subscribed to Fango through their website too - it was cheaper than any other method I could find.

Re: the fabulous return of Davetwo13's music
Yes, probably blasphemous, but true! After listening to your version for a while, I went back and listened to the original... and discovered I wasn't enjoying it nearly as much as yours! You've given it a bit more punch, or something. It really is great. I look forward to hearing more of your tracks...

Looking forward to hearing the rest of the tracks thoughout the fest really liking what i've heard, especially that Escape From New York cover I'll say! I've been listening to your Escape From New York cover on repeat for the past hour - it's bloody brilliant. (Is it blasphemy to say I prefer it to...

Re: cherry tree lane 'vs' Christopher Roth
I'm trying to avoid trailers or spoilers (which is making it tricky to choose the films!) but if Noah Taylor's starring in Red White & Blue, it's a lock-in. He's a brilliant, under-rated actor, and I've been waiting for him to get another lead role.
Re: AMER
I still think about this on a daily basis. I just can't wait to see it again. Eden Log did this too me as well. Wow. I REALLY disliked Eden Log, and I'm always fascinated to discover other viewpoints. I know this sounds silly, but sometimes I have such a passionate response to a particular film, I ...

I'm in 40A so let me know if your sat next to me, i wasn't to keen on the front row bt it was that or up top so went for the neck ache over the eye strain lol. I'm one up from you, in A38; no idea who's in between us. I'm a bit worried that we're so far off to the side that the view will be a bit a...
