Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

One quick question (which might admittedly be a sore point to some of the folk who attempted to book online today. We've already started swapping stories of the "carnage" like old war veterans...) The online festival pass which we get e-mailed to us has very limited info. It does have the ...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

I'm sure Ian will be on the forum to apologise for all of this once he gets the issues sorted with Vue. To the FF guys' credit, they did anticipate this and had several meetings with Vue well in advance to try and avoid this situation, but it looks like Vue has let them down spectacularly. I know i...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

Got my pass. Crappy seat in screen 7 (to be expected really). But I now have to spend some time on the customer support line (again) to ensure I wasn't charged for the "cancelled" seat ... which was an aisle seat near the front!!! GOD DAMN YOU VUE *shakes fist and loads rifle* I've going t...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

Victory! What exactly did you manage, and how? On the third time the website showed me a seating plan (rather than just an error), it accepted payment. Confirmation email received. So I've paid either £170, £340 or £510 and got one ticket. Jonbly - I got a seat in screen 7, entered and submitted ca...

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

I wouldn't get too excited. I thought I had secured a seat, but the transaction was declined at the last minute. I'm willing to bet I lost that seat, and I still don't know if I'm been charged...
Absolute fecking disgrace....

Got exactly the same thing. I don't think it actually got as far as saving my seat though. I don't know where I stand now!
Shambles!!

Awaiting the news headline; "3 men were seen fleeing Leicester Square after the brutal murder of cinema management occurred. One of the man told passers-by to "turn their bloody phone off"!

Just out on twitter from Vue ...
Thanks for your patience with the #F4FF14 issues. We’re seeing huge traffic which is causing outages. We’re working on it!

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014

I've had the same. Call back in an hour, they said. I have to say Vue's customer service leaves a lot to be desired too. 35 minute wait to get no answer at all, not so much as an apology. I had the same response. Judging by the entries on this forum, twitter, and facebook... I don't think anybody h...

Re: Sleepy Queue 2014 Discussion (Split from Q&A Thread)

"smoke this...." better? I sure you'll be just fine getting a ticket online. Just do what I normally would start checking the VUE website from 10am. Get to know the booking pages etc. And keep hitting re-fresh. Plus also keep an eye on the forum and twitter. Maybe keep the booking phone t...

Re: Sleepy Queue 2014 Discussion (Split from Q&A Thread)

I'm getting increasingly paranoid as time draws close to 28th June. I know I keep wittering on about it, but this will be the first time since 2005 that I won't be in the sleepy queue for various reasons (one of which was that bloody pigeon dropping dead out of a clear blue sky right at my feet last...

Re: We are taking questions about FrightFest 2014

Thanks to Ian & Co for all the answers (and questions) which seemed to resolve most of my queries. Probably won't be at the sleepy queue this year, which will be the first time I've not attended that since 2005 ... *sniff* :( So after all the horror stories about the Vue booking line (and the sl...

Re: FrightFest 2014

I've been rolling up before the crack of dawn for the sleepy queue ever since 2005, which in the early days meant I was just behind the die-hard campers, but as a sign of the times, last year I was nearly into Chinatown. Have to admit, this was going to be the first year that I won't be in the sleep...

Re: Frankenstein's Army

Just as an aside, in the latest copy of Fangoria, it states that Rik Mayall nearly got the part of Frankenstein in the movie! I can't even begin to think what that would have been like... Frankenstein: "I've killed all the Russians! Huzzah for me! Is that a drill in your face or are you just ha...

Re: Top Five Films

Although I really enjoyed the bulk of films this year, I found my top 5 to be easy to pick;

1) Stalled
2) Big Bad Wolves
3) We Are What We Are
4) Cheap Thrills
5) You're next

Just bubbling under: V/H/S/ 2

All superb, for different reasons. Great stuff! Good Fest.
