Just returned back from a girly night out with Trixybella to see Miss Little Sunshine. What a highly enjoyable film. Some great humour, some moving moments with some dark tinges. Great acting all round. The pageant was somewhat creepy. The little girl who played Olive was excellent. A real scene ste...

Just a change of subject. Just come back from seeing Borat (Thanks Alex) Very entertaining, cringe making. at times laugh out loud film. Made me think if some of the scenes were staged or not. Loved the marriage blanket. Very amusing. The one film that insults everyone but makes the subjects in the ...

Just come back from seeing The Black Dahlia. Thought it was good rather good. I have never read the book so I cannot compare. Do agree about the family scenes being over the top. Though Scarlett Johanasson looked like a siren and thought she looked great. Hilary Swank looked uncomfortable and not ve...

Had a double bill: Finally seen the Pulse it was surprisingly enjoyable. Glad it kept the bleakness of things. Some rather good shots of the schoolyard and the ominous building. A couple of creepy moments and not ruined by the music. I probably get lynched for this. I thought it was more enjoyable t...

Just watched The Pulse - Japanese version thanks to the FF Goody bag. A strange film. Not a straightforward ghost story. A couple of good creepy moments. At times I got a bit confused. Also quite refreshing to see a character who does not know the first thing about the internet and how to use it!!! ...

Re: CRANK

"my name is Chev Chelios" it quite violent and fast moving, very well put together with a lot of visual flair... scenes are filmed in mock security cam vision, through microwave door windows and location changes are made via Google Earth. its almost like a Pop Art action movie at times......

I bit the bullet and bought a ticket for the Wilderness at the Mezzanine. Yes it was the auditorium with 50 seats - size of a front room. Just I remembered it!! I was chuckling when I walked in!!! :D What a highly enjoyable film. Great tension building moments, some good gory deaths and some believe...

Watched on DVD - Tartan Asia Extreme. - called Dumplings. Directed by Fruit Chan. A story of a rich woman trying to hold on to hear youthful looks. A bit disturbing(no change there) but rather good film.

...Superman Returns. Saw this at the IMAX with 20 minutes of it in 3D. Same here. But, sat in row C (someone else booked) and the 3D just didn't work... we were too close to the screen. Even the 2D was pretty compromised. So... sit towards the back. Oooh no!!! I was in Row K in the middle section a...

I did another double bill this evening, both films pleasantly surprising: The Break-Up was a romantic comedy without the romance... actually managed to be funny but had some quite serious, melancholic moments too. . Just come back from The Break Up. Not your run of the mill romantic comedy. Vince V...

Also saw A Night to Remember on DVD.

A thoroughly enjoyable film about the sinking of the Titantic. Great script, Excellent acting. Worth a watch. Lots more drama and no Celion Dion in sight. Soooo much better than the epicfest of James Cameron.
