Re: Big Bad Wolves

One of the best things I have seen since I have been coming to my first frightfest in 05.

Loved this.

Best thing this year by a mile.

Re: Big Love To Alan, Ian, Greg & Paul But Seriously ....

Funnily enough one guy I was chatting to yesterday said that the 'Discovery' screen feels a lot more frightfesty these days, with the main screen seeming to having to show more bums on seats mainstream kind of films. I think next year I might investigate the discovery screen a lot more. Must admit I...

Re: Tower Block

Didnt see quite what this was doing at frightfest. Very unlikeable characters who you didnt really care about. And please, no more stupid decisions by charcaters in films. I mean we go down to the ground floor, we cant get out, so lets a) go back up to the roof and abseil using fire hoses tied toget...

Re: The Possession

This was all a little bit predictable for to me,

Was okay but simply seemed to do everything that you would expect from a 'big budget hollywood' possession film,

Re: After

No idea what this was even doing at frightfest.

Felt like a Stephen King tv movie knock off,

Complete rubbish.

Re: American Mary

A complete surprise this and ended up being my fave film of the festival.

The twins strike me as being slightly bat shit crazy and I must check out the other stuff they have done as well as whatever they do in the future.

Re: Berberian Sound Studio

Put me in the WTF category with this one,

Certainly well made and very pretty to look at, but it didn't make a great deal of sense to me.

Toby Jones was very good in it though.

Re: Paura 3D

Was cheering for the marchese at the end to rid the world of three of the dumbest characters I have ever had the luxury of watching.

Complete shite.

Not a massive fan of the original, but this was straight to video garbage as far as I am concerned.

Re: Eurocrime

Nearly gave this a miss to have a lie in and am so glad I didnt.

I knew nothing about this genre before and found it very interesting.

That Belmondo stunt is insane, I cant imagine anyone in their right mind doing that in the modern era.

Best of the day for me and that suprised me.

Re: Stitches

Pefectly fine as a late night film.

Not having known who Ross Noble was before this festival found him to be a very funny guy,

The fact that this ended up being best of the day for me speaks volumes, not so much about this film as to what I thought of the rest of the films on the day.

Re: [REC]3 Genesis

This is a bit of a weird one.

Perfectly fine as a wedding/zombie attack nightmare sort of thing.

But I really didnt see quite how this fitted into the REC universe, or maybe just using that to help with marketing it.
