Re: Is I spit 2 cut for frightfest ?

Well, hang on a minute - we don't know. The BBFC doesn't actually have any sway over FrightFest: the decisions over SPIT 1 and SERBIAN were made by Westminster Council. Most of the time they don't query what's shown but they said that in those two specific cases they'd only allow the films in BBFC v...

Re: Discovery Film Recommendations

Though I have no love for Found Footage, I might check out the Clophill movie. But that's because Clophill village is about 8 miles from where I live.

Re: 3D Films for Frightfest 2013

We desperately need some good quality 3D horror though at some point ... other than "Creature from the Black Lagoon", "It came from Outer Space", or "House of Wax" (not the Paris Hilton remake!). Now THEY got it right!! :p I don't think we need some good quality 3D hor...

Re: 3D Films for Frightfest 2013

I don't tend to mind it although given the choice I tend to go for the 2D option. I would have made an exception for Pacific Rim but the 2D shows happened to be more conveniently timed. I don't think Rim lost anything in 2D. And when I saw Great Gatsby, Star Trek Into Darkness, Iron Man 3, Man Of St...

Re: What does everyone think of the line up then?

It looks great to me. Some years the lineup has been too much on the grim and glum side for my tastes, but this looks to be a lighter mixture. I'll probably go into the Discovery screen instead of VHS2 and The Conspiracy, as I don't like Found-Footage movies and I do think that style has worn very t...

Re: sleepy queue

Many thanks to those who arrived at the sleepy queue, said Hi to friends that were already in the queue & then took their own place at the back of the queue! Total disrespect was shown from those that turned up, many hours into the sleepy queue, & thought it acceptable to join their friends...

Re: 25 Movies That Will Destroy Your Faith In Humanity

I've seen 21 of the 25 (not Gummo, Dear Zachary, Dancer In The Dark or Happiness). Of the others, there's only one or two I'd ever want to watch again (The Mist, Hostel 2). I'm not a big fan of being confronted with a bleak and nihilistic abyss of depratvity and meaningless evil.

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2013

I'm sure the lineup will be terrific and there'll be plenty for everyone. Personally I'd like a healthy dose of giallo and no found-footage: I loathe Found-Footage but I know other people like them. For me it's fantasy over reality, style over a deliberate absence of style. Films with panache. But r...

Re: Maniac censored for teen audiences in Japan

There's no question, Maniac is an 18 film for adults. It's not just that it would be incredibly awkward to produce a 15-rated version of the film, it's that they really shouldn't. It's the subject matter and treatment that makes it an 18, and removing or blurring the easily offending imagery isn't g...

Re: sleepy queue

There are (or at least there were a couple of years ago) all-night bogs a short walk away in Covent Garden. It may be that the Leicester Square ones are 24-hour now; I wouldn't know for sure.

Re: Frightfest 2013 Ticket Information

Previously always bought day and individual tickets online, but this year I need to get three weekend passes for Frightfest for me and my two brothers - will this be okay? or is there a limited to how many I can buy in person... i.e one per person? Anyone know? Three's probably okay - I've bought t...

Re: Newbies!

This will be my second year attending FrightFest, but my first year in the Sleepy Queue. I was supposed to be having a friend come along too, but it's now likely that he won't be able to get the time off work to come down for the queue. I'm now having serious doubts about whether I should queue alo...

Re: Evil Dead (2013)

Didn't care for it at all. In fact I remember leaving the cinema thinking "Was that it?" ED2013 is not scary at all, which would surely be the whole point of remaking a classic, genuinely scary film.

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2013

one film i would LOVE to see at frightfest and by the grace of god i hope they get the FULL version is KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM. Joe Lynch's labour of love must be seen in it's full entirety, Is there a cut-down version then? Apparently one of the executives has taken it away and drastically re-edited ...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2013

On the one hand, speculation can be fun. But I also like to be surprised, as I don't want the temptation of looking them all up on the IMDb first!
