Some excellent (although I expect embellished) subtitle translations.
Mostly very poor CGI though.

"Here's your long lost Uncle Bob. He is a serial killer."
Re: Chained
Even poor old Jennifer Lynch was apologetic about the ending which really undermined the integrity and intelligence of all that had gone before. Hopefully the director's cut puts that right, but if it so obviously doesn't work why not fix it in the original cut?? I note that Jennifer Lynch would ha...

Re: American Mary
They obviously do those parties a lot, and he (mistakenly) thought she had turned to prostitution and at very least he knew she was desperate for money. Given the arrogance, I was prepared to believe he thought he would get away with it even if it got to court. I liked this film a lot. Sensitive dep...

I also found the ending worked well. Almost perfect, in fact, as twists go. And as Chary says, it was in keeping with his m.o. to keep the boy, and also a subtle way of getting back at his brother. I do like Vincent D'Onofrio, and his portrayal of the troubled killer was as good as I'd expected, but...

Perhaps they should have called it "WEDDING FEAST" or "TIL DEATH US DO PART - THE MOVIE" or "HONEY, MY UNCLE'S A ZOMBIE!"

My favourites (and indeed one or two others) are represented in this mix I made.

Some songs are quite obvious, others more subtle.

Re: Big Love To Alan, Ian, Greg & Paul
Funnily enough one guy I was chatting to yesterday said that the 'Discovery' screen feels a lot more frightfesty these days, with the main screen seeming to having to show more bums on seats mainstream kind of films. I think next year I might investigate the discovery screen a lot more. I made a si...

My take was that he was a nice Home Counties boy gradually drawn into the corruption of horror films*, and driven mad. And when he started talking Italian, it was a tribute to the Banarama song about Robert De Niro. I kept accidentally calling it Berberian Sound Machine. *Not too many people like th...

Bed Clothes Encounters of the sub-Poltergeist Kind. I didn't really connect with the family, so didn't mind if the boys got out of that underworld place, but I liked the way the Ned Flanders Kids were gratuitously introduced and offed  Who would win in a glib cliche fight, them or the brothers ...

Re: Berberian Sound Studio
Awesome soundtrack, amazing sets, superb acting, multiple sub-plots that confused me. Apart from the last one, I completely agree, but I also was disappointed. I'd have liked more of a sense that his exposure to the horror genre had consequences in the real world, and it seemed to be going that way...

Question ... How did she turn round in that very tight chimney/tube at the end? Thought this was poor with cod accents (Sean Pertwee) and looked like a council estate as a location... She got out and climbed back in? True Fact: After Uxbridge played the part of The Balkans in this, I was tempted to...
