Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

Bournemouth's British Horror Film Festival announces first UK public uncut screening of A Serbian Film on 30th October at Midday. http://www.eatmybrains.com/shownews.php?id=1132 Now, I realise this is the day of the Frightfest all-nighter, but with a midday screening, it does still allow time to hea...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

MarkR - sorry to hear you couldn't get in on Friday. Raindance had put a lot of effort (and to be fair, a lot of their budget) into this screening, and were dogged by Westminster City Council a lot of the way. The Council had referred to their own lawyers, and despite them eventually relenting that ...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

DVD and Blu-ray release now scheduled for January 3 2011. We've had to move it back from our original intended release date of October to ensure we have a BBFC-approved version of the film to release.

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

Good to hear at least some people were allowed in last night. I was in the cinema myself quite early, so am unaware at the moment as to why some people were turned away at the last minute. I'll check in with the Raindance people early next week as to the full story of what happened, not only just be...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

Thanks for clarifying that nagelfar. I'm glad you saw the film at a festival, and although we may disagree on the point and the content of the film itself, you are completely entitled in giving an opinion after seeing the film at an official festival screening. This is why we so wanted it to play at...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

I do have lots of links to various interviews with the filmmakers, but not to hand and I'm away for the next 3 days, so I can post them here when I get back. The Youtube clip of the Q&A after the SXSW screening is interesting - the writer Aleksander is very erudite about what the script was tryi...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads

I had to calm down a bit before responding here. Now that I am a bit calmer, here goes... The point of this topic was not only the fact that Adam Green was so annoyed about people downloading the film that he and the rest of his crew had worked so hard on, but the fact that people were then rubbing ...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads

I download illegally, it's wrong but i'm left with no other choice.I download films i know will never get a cinema release where i live or have been banned/cut on DVD. With the latter i then decide if the film is worth my money, and these are the strict guidelines i download by, the rest i will ren...

Re: Adam Green and Downloads

I completely agree with this topic and Adam's outrage. Revovler signed A Serbian Film early in August. A few days later the first download link appeared online and was even mentioned on this forum. Combine that with the fact the film was pulled from FrightFest and it's easy to see how this has massi...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

Interesting piece here too... http://www.electricsheepmagazine.co.uk/news/2010/09/03/a-serbian-film-censored/ Were currently corssing our fingers that the Raindance screening on Oct 8 will still be able to go ahead. Best to email Raindance to register interest in attendance if anyone would like to a...

Re: anyone else tired of crappy remakes ?

Remakes will always happen unfortunately, but at least this year we're seeing some decent attempts. Word on Let Me In is actually very good, and we've also had the equally acceptable The Crazies and I Spit On Your Grave this year to enjoy... I think the rule of thumb is to avoid any remake with the ...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

Very interesting discussions going on here. A few other festivals have expressed an interest in seeing if they can show the film uncut, including Grimm Up North (Manchester), Mayhem (Nottingham) and Horrorthon (Dublin). Will let you know how that pans out. We also have the Raindance request for scre...

Re: Thank You!

As ever - a huge thank you to Alan, Ian, Paul and Greg for another fantastic FrightFest! Also huge thanks to the many others who put tireless work in behind the scenes including the brilliant Johanna and the whole FF crew. Also thanks must be made to the Empire staff who were all great. Thanks to al...

Re: Short Film Showcase

Had a great chat with the makers of Papa Wrestling after the showcase and they kindly gave me a DVD. They're a collective of filmmakers who are swapping roles for each film they make (they have 8 planned) so fingers crossed we get to see their next one soon - great stuff.. For those who missed it, o...
