Preservation is on at 1pm in Discovery 1 and R100 is at 3.30pm in Discovery 2. They don't clash?

Re: We are taking questions about FrightFest 2014

According to the newsletter it's the three largest so 5, 7 and 9. According to this link, it will use five screens. http://www.frightfest.co.uk/newsletters/film4frightfesta.html I guess that's the three largest for the main programme and two for discovery. Sorry, I just assumed the poster mea...

Re: All-Nighter 2013 Information

Just curious but why is it that the North West of England is consistently ignored. We have Liverpool & Manchester but are constantly expected to travel, at great expense, to other parts to catch these events. Surely not a lot to ask to be included at some time. Nothing north of London up the en...

Re: Big Bad Wolves

Bless. It's a good job LF wasn't around for Dark Touch (children get burned, slapped about and then dozens of 'em crushed by collapsing building). I'm sure he feels much better now he's got that off his chest though, even if he hasn't quite grasped how humour works yet, nor that online forum perenni...

Re: Allocating Discovery Screen Tickets

Do you mean queue up for each performance? Yeah, queue up in the normal way at the box office before the movie is due to come on as you would when going to the cinema normally and once those 45 pass holder free tickets have been allocated thats it. I can't see how this would work - there often isn'...

Re: Odd Thomas

I'm almost embarrassed at how much I enjoyed this and I didn't have much hope for it either, but it was just the job after the hard going stuff and I'm glad I wasn't the only one to have something in their eye at the end. Erased the spectre of the woeful Banshee Chapter nicely. I wonder who it's aim...

Re: The Banshee Chapter 3D

I slept through most of this, although sadly not all of it.

I will, however, be the first tedious wanker to point out that [pedant]the word 'sheriff' is spelt with one 'r' and two 'f's.[/pedant] :)

Stalled

I was a bit apprehensive about this as it's so common for the comedy horrors to fall flat (and you're stuck cringing at it for another hour) but thought it was terrific - inventive, pacey and some very funny bits too. Probably my favourite so far along with Painless.

Re: The Dyatlov Pass Incident

I really enjoyed this even though I hadn't planned to see it (missed out on a For Elisa ticket). Undemanding and fun, and it didn't really matter that half the subtitles had fallen off :D.

Re: V/H/S 2

Was bored to tears, but I didn't like the first one either and I only bothered because I didn't get a Wither ticket. Pedestrian, try-hard and the wraparound was cack.

Re: Frankenstein's Army

I'd wondered if it was just me who couldn't make out a word of it, and I thought the start was slow and plodding (maybe the fear of another Outpost 2 was sneaking in) but despite the awful wobbliness this was great fun, the monsters were some of the best designed I've seen in years and a good value ...

Re: Censorship

This is a subject pretty dear to my heart as both a longstanding horror fan and also as somebody who works in the sex industry; the fact that it's unenforceable isn't the point and like (I suspect) everybody else here, I object to being told what legal material I can view in my own home on my own eq...

Re: What does everyone think of the line up then?

Like the previous couple of posters I'm disappointed about Contracted, as I can't now find anything I'm bothered about in that slot and the one before it isn't that appealing now either - I suspect I'll go for Frankenstein's Army but I might just take a long break and have a decent meal, a pint and ...

Re: Discovery Film Recommendations

For Elisa, Painless, Wither and Rewind This are all definites for me - I was looking forward to Contracted but my opportunity to see it's been lost with the schedule changes, and I think I'll skip Snap in favour of the main screen as it's liable to turn up elsewhere and I doubt I'll be in the mood f...
