I notice it mentions some cuts were substitutions - an advantage of not being so pressed for time, no doubt! Are these the minority, or are most of the relevant scenes completed in this way to keep the flow like I Spit On Your Grave ? Will be interested to see what the extras are for the DVD/Blu rel...

They're pretty reasonably priced on Amazon too - I managed to run out of ports on a switch so am now using this one (clicky) which even has a dinky remote control! It comes with a power lead but I haven't needed it so far and have one at least 5m cable... For optical I only know of manual switchers ...

Frozen (US Blu-Ray) - totally lives up to the hype, really tense and beautifully shot and scored. Dig the character naming too

Wow, people, what happened to DoAF? Nobody here considering that one the bestestest of the day? I'm shocked! :-P For me at least, it didn't get the vote purely because it wasn't a complete film (it's one segment of an anthology, minus the relevant part of anthology wraparound for introduction even!...

Excellently made, thought it was a great doc. Martin Barker came across very well in the Q&A too - well done to him for always being able to be so calm about something he has such passion for! Have to say, fair play to the chap from the BBFC for going on stage for what was going to be very tough...

Better than the original, but then I absolutely despised that film (which is something extremely rare for me)

Think for the revenge genre that I was spoilt by The Horseman though - this didn't even come close!

Didn't think it was quite as bad as others do, but for me could definitely have used more comedy and would have liked to have seen more time devoted to the vampire aspect.

However, as a late night film, am sure there can be some excellent drinking games for this one

I liked that this year the selection included so many films that would have otherwise flown under the radar - I personally don't mind the odd "big" commercial type in a lineup (though I know that isn't representative of everyone!) and did like that one of the films that will be otherwise a...

Huge thanks to Ian, Paul, Alan and Greg of course - another brilliant year! I'd like to add also to the guys and ladies with the Crew T-Shirts were also great, friendly and full of enthusiasm all weekend long, as were the Empire staff too - hope those who were brought down all got back to Glasgow OK...

Also, anyone with a knowledge of blurays, if I bought blu ray discs whilst in the US, would I be able to play them on a UK player (what I want for christmas). Annoyingly, it largely depends on the individual title (be ashamed, all those who didn't support HD-DVD where everything was region free ;) ...
