Re: Isle of Dogs
Wow. Just, wow. So many things wrong with this film! Did anyone notice how alive the dog was after being shot point-blank with a shotgun? And for Christ's sake, don't have your 'masked killer' look like Rorschach from Watchmen, give him his own unique look. *sigh* Anyways, nothing to say for this th...
Re: F
"I think i hoped for 2 much from this one, the whole "assault on precint 13" stuff got me thinking i was in for a siege movie and so felt let down when everyone just seemed to back away and give in when confronted by the hoodies, speaking of the hoodies, I liked the way they were don...
Re: Red Hill
I was frequently reminded, whilst watching red Hill, of the - frankly brilliant - film High Plains Drifter. So I was quite disspointed that there was no supernatural element to the film, and that it was literally just a normal guy wiping out the town to get revenge (come on, he got through all that ...
Re: Dead Cert
Sorry to say this, as I am always up for giving low-budget British films a chance, but this was rather shite. Strangely enough, it had its moments (mostly confined to the first half), but these were few and far between and I get the horrible feeling that around 95% of the stuff I laughed at was actu...
Re: Primal
Better than I thought it would be, but not as good as it could have been. I thought the 'primal' creatures were just not that scary, and I was enjoying the tension in the build-up far more than the stuff with the creatures. Oh and the poor CGI was a bit of a bummer. Cracking final line though, but i...

Re: Films everyone loves... except you!
It was in 3D? I thought the projector was faulty.
Aaah it makes sense now. So THAT'S why they were giving out free glasses by the door. I thought the local Glaucoma Group were having a day-trip.

Sorry, I know so many people love this film (just look how much money it's made) but I cannot think of one part of the film that I couldn't see coming a mile away.

I think dkny666 hit the nail on the head with that review. The annoying thing, for me, was that I think I would have enjoyed the film a lot more if it had just been a straightforward Faustian tale of soul-selling and the consequences of that. The film did look great and had a unique feel to it. But ...
It was entertaining enough, but it got more ridiculous as the film went on, to the point where it very nearly reached a Mirrors-esque level of bollocks. But it had its moments. The kid's performance was spot on. And maybe the reason this hasn't been released yet might be due to the Baby P, social se...

I like the early Jackson stuff, but I think that Thriller was the last decent thing Michael Jackson did - after that was when he started getting a bit shite. But I loved seeing the Thriller video on the big screen, that was great fun, and the making of was interesting too - I hadn't seen that in yea...
