Re: Walking in and out of theater
Short Film Showcase 3 was crazy in this respect... every time something finished we seemed to rotate half the audience SFS 3 was rammed, the other too were significantly emptier and didn't suffer this. However SFS 3 filled a gap in the timetable that allowed people to watch 30 mins-1hr of shorts be...

Re: The Master Cleanse
The more I think about this movie the more frustrated I become at it, and more confused as to why people were satisfied by it. But then again I enjoyed Cell and everyone else seems to have made it their mission to slate it more than the next person. The master cleanse felt like half or two thirds of...

Re: The Rezort
I thought it would work really well at the theatre.
We expected more from the prominent female zombie; the late ReZort business partner, who maybe even intentionally/unintentionally seeded this whole mess and was offed a little too late/ early?

Re: Vue West 12 vs Vue West End
Is it possible to compare individual ticket sales between the two venues. Leicester Square gets the passing traffic that Shepherds Bush doesn't. I only found Frightfest, (and a new love for the horror genre) after walking past the Empire and picking up a program about 4 years ago. Other than that, a...

Re: Quality of films this year
Mentioned it in another thread but just wanted to say how much lower across the board the quality of films were this year compared to the last few years. There weren't any standout films for me, and no surprises either. Usually there are one or two smaller films that really impress but none of the ...

Re: Best and Worst Films of 2016
A strong year or I just chose successfully all weekend; 15 Discoveries, 6 Mains. I had always assumed that most people researched the films at the festival and made an educated decision on which films to watch, instead of remaining in the main screen and then complaining about it. In general my leas...

Re: Can Thurs Night/Friday folks report in on the aircon situation as usual!
First two films in the Horror Screen were cool and air conned. Not too chilly, but if you feel the cold, bring an extra layer.
Final film, was hot and stuffy, they had clearly turned it off. It was unpleasant.

I still think that an encouraged fancy dress day/session would be fab. I am so keen to dress up one day but don't want to look like a massive bell-end.

Re: Extra screenings of fully booked films
Are there going to be any more last minute extra screenings? Or more seats released; demand high enough from us, or demand low enough from non pass holding potential punters that a few more could be made available? We tried to book our Discovery Tickets this week and couldn't get tickets for 4 films...

Re: SPECIAL SURPRISE SCREENING - Speculation thread
I was hoping that it might be Ben Wheatley's Free Fire, but that is way off release, aaand I guess it isn't horror horror anyways.
16 Oct London Film Fest though.

Re: My top and bottom 3
17 films, and pulled from my IMDB rating; Top 4 Landmine Goes Click Remake, Remix, Ripoff Turbo Kid Deathgasm Bottom 3 Suspension Hellions Cherry Tree There were a lot of tough film clashes, and unfortunately work interrupted a few afternoons/evenings. It would be easy to write a missed list of at l...

Re: FrightFest 2015 DVD/Bluray/Internet releases
Thanks for the list.
Is there any news on Remake, Remix, Rip-Off?
Cinema or DVD?
I was very tired, wasn't paying attention half way through and drifted off at the end.
It was however very interesting, entertaining, and I'm annoyed that I didn't drink more coffee.

Re: III
The location scout deserves a special mention; every location was, beautiful, eerie, perfect.
And what did they say the minuscule budget was 16,000 Euro??? Maybe we misheard.
As you say, a little more story; some more of this priest chap? would not have gone amiss.
Excellent film.

Re: Landmine Goes Click
Landmine is definitely in my top 3, if not my favourite of the festival purely for the emotional wreck state it left me in afterwards. I love bleak films and that feeling of emptiness after watching something harrowing, but this was completely different. My whole body felt broken and had invisible s...
Re: Estranged
We had a good time with this one, but question the purpose of the butler.
It felt like they wanted a butler in order to fulfil the typical British country manor feel, but hadn't quite rounded him out. His minor plot roles could have been better written in elsewhere.
