The Entity was on Film4. Really sleazy exorcist rip off, with Barbara Hershey (delivering a performance the movie doesn't deserve) being repeatedly raped by a ghost. It's the worst kind of sleaze in that it's pretending to by a big posh studio picture. Does feature a hilarous scene where the lead c...

Saw Doomsday and really enjoyed it, but I do wonder if it will find much of an audience outside of 38 year old fanboys like myself.

Saw In Bruges last night, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Kind of like Waiting for Godot with added dwarfs, drugs, swearing and guns.

Vacancy - okay Hitchcockian thriller, starts well but gradually deflates under it's predictability. Worth a rental. Not sure why some people have lumped this in with Hostel and it's ilk, its much less in your face and juvenile, more like Joyride or something like that. Very unsatisfying ending though.

The Condemned - very poor rip off of The Running Man and Battle Royale. You know what I really hate? Mindless violence that tries to excuse itself by adding a moralistic subtext. It's a hypocritical piece of crap, and the action isn't even well orchestrated.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I understood from the guardian website. And I agree with him. Well I've only seen the original version, but given the remake is shot for shot the same it will be fair to say that I agree with him too. I'm not a big Heneke fan, I saw Benny's Video ages ago at a film fes...

I'm not sure they do, I think a lot of people view it as just an efficient, nasty thriller and ignore the lecturing. That's how I viewed it. I knew there was meant to be some kind of message in there but I couldn't make head nor tail of it. I can't access you tube at work, would anyone mind summing...

Here's Mark Kermode on Funny Games http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRd6QbPaLOQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVqS1VbLvvs Which, again, makes me wonder why so many horror fans like the message of this movie :) I'm not sure they do, I think a lot of people view it as just an efficient, nasty thriller...

Hey another newbie here, so more meat for the grinder. Surely been discussed elsewhere but just saw Darabont's The Mist which is ace, een better its been classified by the BBFC so should be getting a big screen release. IT's a great through back to 50's style monster flicks y'know, when a monster wa...
