It wasn't a good horror movie, but the dialogue was very funny.

Killing off Johnny Dee Hellfire 20 minutes before the end was a huge mistake, though.

Revenge thrillers, even stupid ones, are always entertaining but it's good to see a serious, thought-provoking movie which also delivers on the action and nastiness. I like the way the film presents Christian not as a hero, but as a tortured man who isn't even sure what he's doing is right, even tho...

Thursday seems a long time ago now, but I liked it a lot.

Not convinced the internal logic worked 100%, unlike Time Crimes which was perfect. I want to hear the DVD commentary to see how Chris Smith explains it all.

For a while, this was one of those "oh god why am I watching this" films.... not because it was bad, but because the whole human centipede surgery concept was making me feel sick. But it was all in my mind, as nothing very graphic was actually shown... Anyway, the performance of Dieter Las...

I hope Philip Ridley was only joking when he said he thinks this is the start of a whole new genre of horror. It had some really good moments, but I thought the mix of horror, romance, comedy, fantasy and melodrama didn't blend together at all. It was more like the film "had a go" at each ...

A really great old-fashioned psychological horror movie, proving that in the hands of a skilled director a film can be bloody terrifying without resorting to a series of cheap shock moments. Excellent.

One of the best Q&A's of the weekend, too.

Not unless you're an American.

But that may be a generalisation.... they don't all spell it like that.

And the most ludicrous bit (other than Jules' hilarious shagging confession) was where Mel says 'He's been protecting us all night'. Like when he rammed head first and full speed into the car that Jules was in when she tried to escape you mean ? And he was apparently prepared to let his pretend-acc...

I always skip the late-nighters but I've seen the film before and I'd have been happy if it had been on earlier in the day!

(For anyone trying to find it on DVD, it's called Escape 2000 on region 1 and has also been available as Blood Camp Thatcher)

OK, fair enough... just some dedicated existing fans then. I'll leave 'em to it.

What was the recent film Alan thought it resembled?
Five Across The Eyes, or Hush maybe.
Yeah, I could only think of Hush (except that was excellent, big difference!). Only because of the "white slavery" aspect... but I guess that's enough.

Haven't seen Five Across The Eyes.

Shuttle

OK, no-one's started a thread for this one, so I suppose it ought to have one. For what it's worth, I thought the basic idea of a late-night airport shuttlebus driver with evil intentions had some potential. But the plot was such a completely illogical mess it really tried my patience.... What was t...

It had some interesting images, but what a complete shambles.

As my brother pointed out, everyone in the fim - especially Coffin Joe - talked like Mr Noisy. "I WOULD LIKE A PIECE OF MEAT. AND A WOMAN TO CONTINUE MY BLOOD."

I was expecting the worst, not being a fan of Corden and Horne, but it wasn't bad at all. Not in any way a "horror movie", but I don't think that's the audience they were going for - unlike Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, who seem to genuinely appreciate the horror genre. But as a comedy, it ...

It was all made worse in my opinion by the director's attempt to make it into a cult movie. Cult films happen over time from years of word of mouth and to see an attempt to 'force' it straight away into this status was a bit lame I think. Yeah, that annoyed me and made me skip the Q&A. You can'...
