Re: Paranormal investigations

Don't know about any organised events, but when I was growing up in Torquay, lots of us took regular late night stay over visits to the one of the most reported haunted castles in the UK - Berry Pomeroy.. http://www.ghost-story.co.uk/stories/berrypomeroy.html Mostly it was just going up for having a...

Re: Human Centipede II

Having not seen the film, it's difficult to really be able to say much, but what I do find interesting is that Human Centipede 2 is unique of recent years in that is in the English language and was filmed largely in the UK with a fair few professional UK crew. Recent banned films such as Grotesque a...

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

We did replace some frames in the quick montage with black frames. These were instances where the BBFC requested 2 or 3 frames be removed, so rather than mess up the flow of the audio in this section, we merely replaced the shot with a black frame. The BBFC technically count this as a substitute sho...

Re: Human Centipede II

Really interesting thread here. One slight amend regarding A Serbian Film. Revolver didn't provide the film for "an advisory screening" early on. Westminster Council said they would allow the film to be screened if it had a BBFC certificate, so Revolver then made an official DVD classifica...

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

Uncut dvd release in the USA should be in February 2011! :) Which will mean import money goes to US distributor instead of our Revolver. Same here! Seems the US distributors are finding it more difficult to release the uncut version of A Serbian Film than they first thought judging by this intervie...

Re: Little Deaths, Lots of Horror!

I'm too close to this film to comment objectively, but I will say it was a shame the film wasn't shown at full screen and a glitch with the sound meant it had to be played in 2.0 rather than 5.1 which distorted the speakers in the cinema. Not saying that to have got that right it would have changed ...

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

Ah - I see, it's here; http://www.killerfilm.com/articles/read/a-serbian-film-gets-us-release-51973 Well, to be fair, it only mentions the theatrical release for Feb 2011, not the DVD which I expect will be later. And it's one thing for a distributor to say they plan to release it uncut and another ...

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

From what I've heard, the US won't be uncut, but we'll see - that may well have changed for all I know.

Capthowdy - where did you see that news?

I had heard the US distributors were planning to self-censor the film for their theatrical release...

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

There were no substitute shots inserted. The director had sent over some ungraded shots and notes for possible substitution, but after a lot of consideration, it was felt that they did not full comply with the overall wishes of the BBFC, and that together with having to grade the shots, it was felt ...

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

I would also like to add that the BBFC are slightly incorrect as the original run time of the film (as stated on the BBFC site) was 99 mins 14 secs. The classified run time (again, as stated on the BBFC site) is 95 mins 20 secs, so there were cuts of 3 mins 54 secs - not 4 mins 12 secs as stated.

Re: BBFC Watch: Upcoming Titles

I'd just like to say, I sat in on the edit for these cuts, and the cuts do very little to diminish the power and impact this film has. If we thought the cuts excessively damaged the narrative and the impact of the film we would have reconsidered releasing it. So we definitely stand by releasing this...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up

Yes, very aware of this hoohah.. Here's today's news; http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/8468460.___Disgusting_and_vile____film_can_be_shown_in_Bournemouth/ Unbelievable to be honest. Despite the Council initially agreeing to show any film, seems the reputation of A Serbian Film has spread across...

Re: films we just saw

There's The 4th Reich which is still gearing up on pre-production with cast members Sean Pertwee, Doug Bradley, Jason Flemyng and Axelle Carolyn; http://www.4threichmovie.co.uk/ There is also an Outpost 2 script flying around. Stone's War is a Scandinavian zombie war film seemingly stuck in post-pro...
