A few of us went to a late night preview of this in Brighton on Friday night and I had the feeling that it would probably play well for FrightFest even though, in the cold light of day, it's a pretty rubbish film. Right from the off the dialogue was hilarious which set the tone for the rest of the f...

Another fan of The Good, The Bad, The Weird here... visually stunning to watch, a film that demands to be seen on the big screen. I did feel that the second hour slows a little after a breakneck first hour, but as Giles says, there is a fantastic desert chase to come... Review just up here: http://w...

My current album of choice: Alpinisms by School of Seven Bells.

Kind of psychedelic/shoegazing hybrid featuring twin sisters on vocals and the former guitarist from Secret Machines.

I finally caught up with Quarantine this week. Obviously if you've seen [REC] then there's no real need to see it as the original was near perfect, but that said I was surprised at how good the remake actually is. There's only a few minor changes to the story, and if anything it's even more intense ...

I quite enjoyed The Transporter and thought Transporter 2 was better, a slicker, more fun sequel... Transporter 3 sadly is garbage, perhaps the worst action film I've seen all year. Which is a shame. It's one saving grace is Jason Statham who is The Stath again and very good at it, but I just felt s...

New TV blog up now :) Since writing that I have stopped watching Fringe ... enough is enough. Just watched the first Wallander story this evening starring Kenneth Branagh - pretty straightforward cop thriller set in Scandinavia (although all the characters speak English), but quite enjoyable with it...

I'm really enjoying Survivors so far... first ep was a little slow but it was worth sticking with and I can't wait to see where it goes next... Also got to mention Spooks which continues to maintain its high quality despite the ruthless bodycount that accompanies the show's main cast!! If you missed...

I was lucky enough to get onto the set of Dread yesterday, and today was their final day of filming - so the movie should be ready Spring/Summer 2009. Alan Jones was also there earlier in the week so I'm sure he'll have more news on that in his next blog... I had a long chat with producer Joe Daley ...
