Watched The Dragon Lives Again, courtesy of LoveFilm. A very silly and entertaining Chinese film where Bruce Lee (played by actor Bruce Leong) finds himself in the underworld having to save the kingdom, while pitted against such 'assassins' as James Bond, Zatoichi, Emmanuelle, Clint Eastwood, Dracul...

Meh. I enjoyed Mirrors far more because it was so hilarious and had everyone rolling in the aisles. This didn't have enough funny bits, and it was obvious who'd end up dead right from the start. As for all the close-up shots of her eye - surely there must be some way to not make it bleeding obvious ...

This was my favourite of the weekend - great acting and a really original idea. Definitely channeled the spirit of The Wicker Man, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I quite liked it at the time, but it didn't really stay with me. The building was cool, though.

I didn't expect to enjoy this at all and only stayed because Mr S was keen to see it. However, there were a lot of laughs in it, it did what it said on the tin, and was a good, fun end to the mini-fest.

Not keen at all, but then again it's really not my 'thing.'

I have to confess to taking a disco nap for 10 mins somewhere in the middle.

I really enjoyed it, really good characters and the mix of humour and horror worked well.

For some reason Rickie's best friend reminded me of 'The Pin' in Brick...but perhaps that's just me...

Loved it!

We saw his other short, Criticized, at a rival film festival in Edinburgh (shock horror!) last year and that was fab too. Look forward to seeing the feature length version of Criticized when he finishes it.

Saw Anvil last night at Keswick Film Festival, the documentary about the metal band of the same name who have been touring since the early 80s and influenced loads of big metal bands, but somehow never been successful. It's very entertaining - you really feel for the guys, but there is a lot of Spin...

Haven't been to the cinema in ages - haven't really fancied anything. We did watch one of the DVDs Mr S got me for Christmas - a Japanese film called Kamikaze Girls, which is very funny, sweet, has a fab soundtrack, does lots of very original things with visuals...can you tell I really loved it? It'...

just started Blaze by Richard Bachman Read that a few months ago, it's pretty good. Just recently finished 'In The Night Room' by Peter Straub, which was a real page-turner and a really good concept for a book - although I got the feeling he was losing momentum towards the end. Now reading stories ...

Now that one's definitely not worth a fiver!

Only film I've ever fallen asleep to at Frightfest, found it that dull.

I can't imagine Cannibal terror will be anywhere near as unwatchable as Cat in the Brain...I really regret that purchase!
