Re: V/H/S Viral
Personally I thought it was the strongest of the three VHS films overall. Whilst no one segment was as good as the 'Safe Haven' segment of VHS 2, a couple of them came pretty damn close ('Parallel Monsters', 'Bonestorm') and the remaining two ('Dante The Great' and the wraparound 'Vicious Circles') ...

Re: Thoughts on FrightFest @ Vue so far..
I'd like to second the previous poster's request to please resist the urge to fix what ain't broke. Now that this year's festival is done, I have to say that I (and the 5 other people that were with me) definitely prefer the Vue incarnation of FrightFest over those at any of the previous venues (yes...

Re: Thoughts on FrightFest @ Vue so far..
I know everyone is clinging to fond memories of The Empire, myself included, but I have to admit that I actually really like the Vue as a venue for FrightFest. I also like the three different screens playing movies in rotation as it adds a whole new element to pre and post movie conversations. It is...

'Drew: The Man Behind The Poster' is actually a really good documentary about a really talented guy and well worth checking out.

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
Just thought I'd point out that there are still quite a few day passes for all days except Saturday left. I know it's a little more expensive and offers little consolation for those that didn't get a full weekend pass this year but, if you did miss out, at least it's still a way to attend the festiv...

5 and 7 are almost exactly the same.
I think 5 has 4 more seats but, actually, 7 is the slightly nicer screen in my experience.

Re: Sleepy Queue 2014 Discussion (Split from Q&A Thread)
The reason some people join the queue for the last few hours is that some people simply can't get there beforehand (for whatever reason) but want to show up and keep their friends/partners company who have been queuing all night. If the person originally queuing was buying a ticket for that person a...

Re: FrightFest 2014
Actually there is an easy solution to staggering the start times of the same film playing over two screens that doesn't require that the films on each screen are offset by the length of an entire film. In fact the London Film Festival has done it very successfully for a few years across the two main...

Re: FrightFest 2014
Thanks Ian. Please don't get me wrong. I have complete faith in you guys to come up with something awesome. Different can also be better, after all. I was just highlighting the things that I know people have appreciated in the past and things that might not be such great ideas for the future (from m...

Re: FrightFest 2014
A bunch of us who have attended Frightfest for several years have been discussing what changes might come about as a result of the demise of screen 1. The one thing we all agree on is that it would be a tragedy to get rid of the 'buy a seat for the whole festival' concept. In fact it could very well...

Allnighter times & air conditioning
Do the published times for the London Allnighter take into consideration the clocks going back?
Also could the guys maybe sort out with the Vue management that there's functioning air conditioning all night this year. In the past it has been horrifically hot.
Thanks

Re: Random Weekend Thoughts...
I guess we're the odd ones out here but for me and all my friends that attended (and regularly attend) FrightFest, this was BY FAR the best line-up in the festival's history. There were a huge number of really good films (if you chose between the screens wisely) and very few really terrible ones. Al...

Re: Bottom Five Films
In such a strong year, I feel bad about nominating at least half of these as they would normally not feature on a bottom 5 of FrightFest list any other year but... 1. Hammer Of The Gods - The undisputed champion - really awful 2. Dark Tourist - not awful, just dull and nowhere near as clever as it t...

Re: Top Five Films
With what was undoubtedly by far the strongest line-up in Frightfest history, I feel it's almost unfair to just have a Top 5 so I've gone for a Top 10 instead. Frankly several films that would have made my top 5 in previous years (The Conspiracy, Willow Creek, The Hypnotist and V/H/S 2 among them) d...
