I second the love for the panther, reminded my of the bit with the tiger in Manhunter in that it really didn't add anything to the plot, but was nicely surreal.maxmum wrote:... just for the record I liked the panther.

A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up
Thanks for the update Rawshark, still hoping for a legitimate screening. And yes, please don't download independent films, you're not sticking it to the man, you're sticking it to the filmmakers.

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up
Don't mind me Axe, have come down with post FrightFest lurgy making me grumpy. Plus I'm sick of being treated like a child because I like horror films. We're adults, let us make up our own minds ferkrisakes! ASB is now a hot potato, I think it will be too toxic for other feasts, maybe the Manchester...

Re: A Serbian Film - PULLED from line-up
But it does seem like the council do not want to give the ok to films that are likely to recieve cuts. I think it is specifically an issue because FrightFest is a horror festival and one that has become a roaring success. I highly doubt that the BFI London Film Festival faces similar scrutiny. The ...

Dead Cert
Worse than Bubbas Chilli Parlour? Even though I walked out of Bubbas I would say Dead Cert was worse. Bubbas was terrible, but it was made with good intentions and a love of horror. Dead Cert was just dull beyond belief, and failed as a horror film on every level. It was lazy DTV high concept filler.

Thanks from the Douche Bros.
Joe & Adam, many thanks to you both. It's terrific that you continue to make the time for the fest and for us punters. It's great to know there are directors out there who are just as much fans as we are. Quite how you still find the time to produce The Road To FrightFest shorts I have no idea. ...

Re: Tobe Hooper and the chainsaw massacre
Interview - I thought maybe Hooper was just jetlagged, but he wasn't any better on the Nasties panel. It was great to have him there, and I'm glad I saw the interview. But if they do this again, maybe someone a bit more engaging next time. I boy would I have loved to have seen Cronenberg and he wou...

Re: Red White & Blue
I know it's called "FrightFest" but it's a genre festival, not specifically a horror festival and a lot of people are forgetting that. Even going way back FrightFest screened The Isle, Donnie Darko, Spider, Cypher, Code 46, The Living & the Dead, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo etc. e...
Re: Red Hill
For me this was the first great film of the festival - and more specifcally one that's not an out-and-out horror film (along with my other favourites Red, White & Blue and Monsters). Maybe this reflects on the current state of the horror film industry - too many unoriginal films and too few lik...

Re: Red White & Blue
...with Frightfest now showing a completely non-horror drama I guess next year we are going to see some romcom? I'm sure there would have been much more fitting movies out there than this one... :-( C'mon man, i don't think that is fair at all. As a depiction of realistic situation spiralling out o...

Re: The Loved Ones
Loved The Loved One, the best actual "horror" film in the fest. Can't believe a film this good is going straight to DVD, a real shame. In hindsight it should have played earlier, but at the end of a day that was supposed to have seen it preceeded by We Are What We Are, Kaboom and Serbian F...
