Loved it. A great look, great atmosphere. Only criticism would be that it kind of showed its hand a bit early with what happens to her best friend. It eliminated the possibility that the dangers she faces are being conjured by her imagination, so it just became a matter of timing - ie. when is somet...

This was so so terrible. I'd dragged a mate along to his first Frightfest experience for the day and this was his first film - it was embarrassingly poor.

It depresses me a bit to see so many people going on about how "terrible" Antichrist is. I thought it was atmospheric (in parts), beautiful (in parts) and confrontational. Slow? Maybe, but go see Transformers if you can't sit for 40 minutes without seeing something blow up. Don't go expec...

No-one ever played middle-aged female nutjobs as well as Bette Davis. In this case, the film was The Nanny a mostly forgotten b&w Hammer film in which she looks after an utterly dysfunctional English middle class family that has never recovered from the accidental drowning of a young daughter. W...

Yep, Frankenfish is a great film. Whatever happened to the wonderfully named Tory Kittles?

The Good, the Bad and the Weird - This Korean blockbuster is an absolute blast from beginning to end. Great characters and humour wrapped up in some really stylish visuals. Really recommend a viewing.

Yep, agree with almost all of the comments above re: Transformers 2. Too long, charmless and conceited. Interminable f/x sequences interspersed with 'humorous' scenes so poor you half expect to see Jar Jar Binks lope in from stage right. Enjoyed the first film but hated this one.

Re: Saw 5. Yeah well, once you're locked in on a horror franchise I reckon you're kind of honour bound to see all of them no matter how bad it gets. Its like a horror fan's rites of passage to watch dreadful sequels. It's not a choice, it's a duty dammit !! I may make an exception for any further &q...

Drag me to Hell - very simple, cool horror. Nicely hokey in tone but never at the expense of jumps and scares (except for the seance scene which is a bit rubbish). JCVD - I've watched far, far too many Van Damme films in my time (personal fave - AWOL) so maybe I'm a tad biased, but hats off to the ...

From Frightfest 08.... Jack Brooks Monster Slayer is on Zone Horror this Friday. A decent throwback to 80's latex monster flicks.

Scars of Dracula - Rubbish addition to the Christopher Lee dracula canon. Instead of Peter Cushing as Van Helsing we get.....Dennis Waterman as an idiot cockney toff. Lee doesn't have much to do - he only gets to sink his teeth into 1 buxom peasant lass - and meets his end from a fluke bolt of ligh...
