Re: All Nighter Reviews...?
Yeah, seems a shame if people stop debating what the films are like. Thought the Halloween event was great fun as per usual, although the films were a mixed bag.... 1.Excision (well acted, american mary meets donnie darko with a bit of Carrie chucked in, but not my cup of tea 5/10) 2.Gallowswalker (...

I agree, a brilliant response to a quite disgraceful attack.

Re: Films for FrightFest The 13th 2012
There is an extended version of Clive Barker's Nightbreed entitled The Cabal Cut which is playing at some events in the USA.
Would love to see this to play Frightfest.

The Abominable Dr Phibes Taste The Blood Of Dracula The Woman In Black The Haunting (1963) The Medusa Touch (one of my very favourite films, and Richard Burton's finest hour) The Exorcist John Carpenter's The Fog The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) Switchblade Romance A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)...

Re: films we just saw
My third favourite film of Frightfest Glasgow (after The Raid, and Wang's Arrival) Evidence has sneaked onto DVD without publicity or much said about it, Id throughly recommend it to all who didn't attend the Glasgow event. Even if you are really fed up with POV horrors, it's an insane film, well wo...

Re: films we just saw
saw Intruders yesterday, very limited release. Enjoyable little Chiller, which has a really creepy atmosphere, unusually set in both Spain, and England. Kind of like Monsters inc, done seriously with two kids in different countries, being menaced by a nasty from the closet- which resembles, Hug A &q...

Re: films we just saw
Although obviously, The Thing (2011) is not as good as Carpenter's 1982 version, I have to say that compared to a lot of the dross out there, its a hugely enjoyable monster movie in its own right, and a good night out. One of the best non frightfest genre films of the year. Like the fact that it's a...

Re: films we just saw
saw SNOWTOWN yesterday, on the strength of Danny Leigh and Claudia Winklemen's review on film 2011, comparing it to Henry:Portrait Of A Serial Killer, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre in its intensity. Although its not as mesmerising as Henry, its certainly powerful, and extremely well acted. Daniel Hens...

Re: The 2011 FILM4 FrightFest All Nighter - Livid
Although not as good as their breakthrough film Inside, this was an excellent choice.
One of the creepiest haunted houses we have seen on film for a while, and although not everything is explained, it works well as a dark fairytale of the Del Toro type.
My Favourite film of the evening.

Ti West really knows how to scare his audience. A superior Ghost Story that really chills, with the added bonus of some excellent characters in the two ghost hunters, who bring some great warmth and humour to the piece. This deserves to be as fondly remembered with The Shining, The Changeling, The H...

Re: A Lonely Place to Die
An Outstanding Frightfest, the best for a while. Really loved this film, Incredibly suspenseful, kind of like a scottish SOUTHERN COMFORT. Good to have a great Suspense film set in the mountains, the opening sequence up there with Cliffhanger. The cinematography was first rate, storyline superb and ...

Red White and Blue is now avaliable on region 1, watched it last night for the first time since Frightfest 2010. Even better a second time. It is such an intense bleak experience, that really stays with you. Noah Taylor has to be one of the screen's most realistic psychopaths. Extraordinary Acting b...

Re: films we just saw
Saw "Insidious" at friday nights preview. Wow! A Really great popcorn piece of Horror which has the most "Jump scares" I have seen in a film. Its not a film that is going to haunt you like The Exorcist or Dont Look Now, but for a piece of friday night multiplex entertainment, it'...
