Re: Johnny Frank Garrett's Last Word

8/10 here too. Was fascinated by the mix of what was based on fact and what obviously wasn't (it as good as started heading down the Exorcist route when the kid was taken to the hospital). Although I didn't pick up on the Adam Redman character (the dad/reluctant juror) being fictional until I had a ...

Re: 31

Couldn't help but like this from the opening moment when Richard Brake appeared onscreen in glorious black and white (nice to have an articulate psycho for once). There was no pretence to the film, being little more than an excuse for loads of violence (loved the demented three pronged chainsaw batt...

Re: Realive

Loved it. It looked as if it was about to go off the boil in the fifth act but recovered well. I found I had something in my eye at the end but it wasn't tears or nothing. Honest. Joint top film so far for me (along with Pet). 9/10.

Same here. Best film so far. Loved everything about it and never saw that main twist coming. An easy 9/10

Re: Blood Feast

It was the that "would you like to see me with cum on my face?" line that did it for me. Forget the tongue ripping and willy chopping, that's what will stay with me over the coming (sorry) years. Worst film of the festival so far but it did make me chuckle at times.

Re: Parking

I ordered mine a couple of days back so, yes, hopefully the tag will turn up before the festival kicks off!

Re: Ticket Sales

Got our four seats in the Splice Screen in under a minute. Can't believe how easy that was. And that was even with my bank declining the transaction at first to do a quick fraud check. That said I also can't believe all the screens are now sold out?!? That's got to be a glitch in the system surely?

Re: Bait

And hats off to the guy in the Horror Channel screen who asked during the Q&A, "How did you finance the film, did you have to get a loan?" Ah, yes. That was me. As soon as the film finished and the Q+A was getting underway I just had this mischievous urge to ask the obvious. Couldn't ...

Re: My top and bottom 3

Even posting a top five is difficult, so I'll go with my top film and joint runners up (in no particular order)... 1. NIGHT FARE 9/10 2. TURBO KID 8/10 2. LANDMINE GOES CLICK 8/10 2. WE ARE STILL HERE 8/10 2. BAIT 8/10 2. DEATHGASM 8/10 2. SLUMLORD 8/10 As for my worst... well, thankfully there was ...

Re: Bait

Missed Before Dawn at Frightfest a couple of years back and still haven't seen it on dvd. This will have to change after Bait though as I thought it was an incredible film. Hard to watch at times (i.e. the violence towards women) and maybe a bit too believable in places. Even so, there was plenty of...

Re: Night Fare

This was my favourite of the whole festival. Loved it, even the manga ending. And when you consider how little money they had to make the movie it's even more impressive. 9/10.

Re: Slumlord

I thought it was the best film of the day. Although I have to admit I also felt grubby and unclean after watching it and felt like I needed a good scrub down in a hot bath using a brillo pad. Slumlord Gerald was like a cross between Joe Spinell's sweaty maniac and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer....

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Just imagine what it'd be like if you supported a big club. ;) I walked straight into that didn't I? Don't worry, you never walk alone... :p Thank you the Manchester contingent. I think I'd better cut my losses and... hold on, what am I saying? I'm just digging myself deeper with every sentence. It...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

And tomorrow I'll be online trying to get my Liverpool tickets. If people want to experience proper lenghty queuing times followed by a growing disappointment that everything's sold out then this is the only place to go. Just imagine what it'd be like if you supported a big club. ;) I walked straig...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

The frightfest guys have taken a bit of stick this weekend and to be fair most of it looks undeserved, from what I can tell by reading this thread everyone who wanted a ticket managed to get one I think this is a fair comment. The guys seem to get stick every single year for not selling tickets in ...
