Re: Buried
I felt this was a good replacement and Ryan Reynolds carried it well. Yeah, there were little niggles but overall it worked. And sparked a lively debate between hubby and me about how often does this actually happen? And how pants employers/governments/etc are. Good one!

Thank you! This was terrible. Did anyone else think the Banshee was the love child of Ozzy Osbourne and Toyah?djwoody wrote:What a waste of time. Poor acting, no budget, no scares!! Surely there must have been better alternatives!

Re: Cherry Tree Lane
This was one of my favourites, surprisingly. I didn't mind the dialogue bits and I thought the 'gang' were quite naturalistic. I think they might live on my estate!!

Re: The Tortured
I'm not sure how I feel about this film. Immediately after watching it I thought it was far too slick and mainstream and could see it doing okay on general release (like last year's Strangers or whenever it was) but now, after seeing the rest of the films and having a mull, I don't think it was out ...
Re: Monsters
I really liked this one, I thought it was beautiful little film. But I also thought it suffered from being shown after ISOYG and I don't think it was a horror or even a sci-fi and didn't really fit in the festival.
Re: 13 Hrs
This one didn't do it for me. And they killed off Manimal so early! Why did they dub John Lynch with Sean Bean's voice?

Re: I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE
Yep, have to agree with The Aylmer on this. I liked it and also thought it was preferable to the original, imo. Enjoyed(?) the revenge section of the film but I did wonder where the sheriff's daughter got to.
Re: Red Hill
This was an okay film, barring the CGI panther (WTF?) but I felt this was more of a revenge film (seems to have been the theme this year) than a horror.
Re: F
I enjoyed this one and the longish preamble didn't bother me. The hoodies were suitably menacing and agile - I like that in my baddies! And I liked the ambiguous ending, but I think I would have chosen to save my daughter over my spouse too.

Re: Tobe Hooper and the chainsaw massacre
Eggshells was very much of it's time (and unfortunately I can vaguely remember - I was only a small child!) but, bugger me, that soundtrack was LOUD! I did the fingers-in-the-ears too. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is what it is and I didn't watch it this time round having seen it on several million other...
Re: Primal
I thought I had seen the trailer for Primal before watching this. But it turns out it was the wrong trailer I had seen, and for another horror movie called Primal :? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIXq7_qzfSU I wouldn't have minded if I'd seen this one instead! Both seem to have a lot of exaggerate...
