Re: Dementamania
Well, I tend to enjoy an Unreliable Narrator movie, so I had fun with this. It's a shame it didn't amount to much in the end, but it gets a charitable 6 of my 10.

Re: Abortion short film
PS, in the bogs after, I overheard a conversation between two mateys, which went something like; ‘You see that film about the bird who give herself an abortion?....yeah that’s the one…what you think…yeah….right, well, I was thinking at the end the baby was going to turn out to be a monster or somet...

Re: Abortion short film
The first time I read this, I read 'cork' as 'cock'! Anyway, amusing mis-readings aside, I don’t really get your point Steven. Are you really comparing your unfortunate case of the runs to the misery and horror of a self-administered abortion? I would like to imagine that no subject is beyond the p...

Re: Abortion short film
Sorry Marko darling, I know that you're a big bloke and all that, but I have to disagree. This was a highlight for me, in fact one of the strongest of the especially impressive selection of short films this year. I'm a little fascinated by the idea of family and pregnancy- one of the things that I ...
Re: Chained
An unexpected gem and one of this year's highlights - intelligent, compassionate and gripping.
I did have some reservations about the ending, but these were swept aside by the JL's candid and articulate performance in the Q&A.
I'll snap up the director's cut as soon as it becomes available.

Re: Big Love To Alan, Ian, Greg & Paul But Seriously ....
I enjoyed Fright Fest as much as ever this year, and saw a few staggeringly good films, but I have to agree the general quality seemed a step down from last year. The festival only really got going for me around late Saturday/Sunday time when the quality of the films improved. There seemed to be qu...

Simple but effective.
An excellent finale!
An excellent finale!
Re: Tulpa
The opening scene is of a heavily-restrained woman, who is presented with some recently severed genitals by an unconvincing and faintly absurd figure dressed entirely in black. It’s a sight she did not expect, clearly did not appreciate and, no doubt, wishes she’d never seen. You might argue that sh...

Re: Big Love To Alan, Ian, Greg & Paul But Seriously ....
I love Frightfest. It's one of the highlights of my year and "our" Glastonbury. But, until "Sleep Tight" this evening, I've been hugely underwhelmed by the standard this year. Take a moment to check some of the titles at last year's Frightfest and compare them to what we've seen ...

Can anyone film Jonbly's re-write in time for FF 14?jonbly wrote:Hmm... in that vein, jonbly's re-write of this is basically to finish making a twisted version of Monsters, Inc... so the monster should be a big cute furball with fuzzy Mr Tickle arms who's started to take his job a bit too far...
