And then I could have had an early night!

But you're right, Psychopaths wasn't a good choice for a late-nighter, it would've been far more at home on a Disco screen.

Re: 68 Kill

I loved this one. It maintained the pace and humour all the way through (including, presumably, the few minutes when I unfortunately fell asleep...). Matthew Gray Gubler wasn't a familiar face or name, although I have seen a few things he's in, but I thought the guy gave a terrific performance. I'd ...

Re: Victor Crowley

I got a bit teary at the start with Adam Greens tale about his hardships and his relationship with Wes and Romero and I wish him all the best (plus Adams cute as a button), but I hope for a little more innovation in future endeavors. I missed the intro because I got confused about the starting time...

Re: The End?

I'll probably never watch it again, but I thought it was quite well done and a bit different despite featuring most of the standard zombie movie cliches. As for the ending, I thought it was a bit silly that he was so confident there'd be no zombies still around when he finally got the lift door open...

Re: Radius

I fell asleep during the bit when the two protagonists realised how they were connected, so it took me fucking ages to work out why they were so relaxed some of the time but got into a big panic about missing a lift. I finally twigged during the scene where the police tried to arrest them. A eureka ...

Re: Freehold

Certainly not a horror movie, although it could have been taken in that direction, but a simple idea executed very well. It could easily have been repetitive but it built very nicely to the eventual confrontation.

I'd wanted to avoid this but couldn't get a Discovery ticket... and I'm glad I didn't.

Re: Attack of the Adult Babies

As you've all said, really... I've enjoyed Brunt and Mitchell's previous films and I think it's brilliant that Paddy out of Emmerdale makes horror movies in his spare time. But I was pretty horrified by how badly this started, with the Russian(?) hitmen and the weird relationship between what appear...

Re: Cult of Chucky

Nica gets sent to a remote psychiatric hospital which apparently only has about five patients (not sure if it's going to be economic to keep that place going...). Chucky, who can apparently possess anyone and anything, inexplicably decides it's really important to go after her, and Andy decides it's...

Re: Top Five FF17 Films

The Bar 68 Kill Killing Ground Tragedy Girls Game of Death I'd also have Lowlife there or thereabouts, but it was one of the films I fell asleep in so I didn't get to fully appreciate it. And I wish The Villainess had made it because I love Korean films... but it didn't quite work. Interesting to se...

Re: Leatherface

Whoever wrote Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings should sue them for stealing his plot... I think I'm resigned to the fact that Texas Chain Saw Massacre sequels and prequels are pointless. The original is a work of genius, the one with Dennis Hopper is a good laugh because it's fucking mental, the rema...

Re: Still/Born

Gosh, this had every cliche in the book. Unfeasibly wealthy good-looking young couple, big (and always dimly-lit) house, a frightened woman no-one believes, a husband away on totally-unavoidable business, creepy noises on baby alarms, creepy images on CCTV, an older previous victim with a cassette p...

It seemed to be aimed at people who like The Hunger Games, Divergent or The Maze Runner. I'm older than their dads and I didn't connect with it at all.

Re: Tragedy Girls

I liked this a lot and it was a good choice for the closing film. Well directed, lots of witty lines and very good performances from the two lead actresses. However.... it did seem to fizzle out a bit in the last half hour. It needed "something" to just take it up a notch. They're obviousl...

Re: Killing Ground

Probably not a film which is going to get a great deal of attention, but I thought it was very well done indeed. It never got really graphically violent but there was still a grim sense of foreboding almost from the very beginning, bolstered by very strong performances rather than the usual cardboar...

Re: The Bar

Loved it. I've seen a lot of Alex de la Iglesia films (although not the more recent ones) and I know he can be hit-or-miss, but in this one he nailed it. Great transition from comedy to full-bore thriller and a really strong ensemble cast. I was a little uncomfortable at the beginning with the simil...
