One of the rare occasions where a remake actually improves the original. Beautifully shot and good characters you actually care for. Jim Mickle has done a fantastic job with the material and this one is already earmarked to go into the collection upon release.

Re: Odd Thomas
Had low expectations going into this one, but have to admit i was pleasantly surprised. Having the advantage of being based on a great book it really translated to the screen well. Well paced and nicely built towards the pay off. A great way to spend a bank holiday afternoon. And even though i knew ...

Re: Frankenstein's Army
Great movie and some superbly imagined monsters. Maybe took a little to long to bear its teeth but once it did..... My only issue was the sound!! As already mentioned elsewhere i struggled to make out any of the dialogue, made even worse with the characters accents. Was it just me or do i need to sp...
Re: Maniac
After a really substandard 4 days it's the two films I was really sceptical about ( this and sinister ) that have stood head and shoulders above the rest. Maybe low expectations reap maximum rewards.
Great remake with a pumping score. At last a grimy adult horror movie. Who'd have thought!!

Re: Tulpa
Was this intentionally supposed to be this funny?? I hope to god it was, if not it must of been the most crushing 90 minutes of the directors life. Nice visuals and soundtrack though :D Ultimately really really disappointing as the first 5 minutes ( previewed at previous FF event ) are really impres...

Re: Under The Bed
Sorry guys but this was absolutely appalling. The only good thing about this movie was taking the piss out of it when it finished.
Under the bed, I wish I'd stayed in bed!!!!

Re: Deadheads
Awful awful film
Not one single character in the movie was in in anyway indeering to me and 'cheese' must rank as one of the most pointless, humourless and ultimatly annoying on-screen characters ever. By far the worst film of the festival ( closely followed by the wicker tree!!).

Reading Richard Laymons Quake, love Richard Laymons approach to storytelling and quake is the only one of his books i haven't read. Blurgh. Every one always wears Nike trainers, the women are always athletic and tanned and they all drink Pepsi. Hack. Exactly!!! Great easy reading usually with a gen...
