Re: Halloween All-Dayer

I actually preferred it being an all dayer; as much fun as the concept of an all-nighter is, when you're missing most of the films because you're falling asleep, it kinda defeats the purpose. Plus at least you feel vaguely alive on Sunday too. Also I don't experience any problem with heat in the PCC...

Re: My top and bottom 3

It's always got to be top/bottom FIVE, 3 is not enough! Top 5: 1. Bait 2. Turbo Kid 3. They Look Like People 4. Road Games 5. Deathgasm (might have been higher if the black metal band hadn't had bloody Trivum patches and posters everywhere...the elitist black metaller in me was infuriated!) Also wor...

Re: FF15 - Just for fun

hmmm, what the hell, let's have ago: 1. The best film of the festival Nina Forever 2. The worst film of the festival Stung 3. The biggest let down- the hype wasn't worth it Howl 4. The biggest surprise Pod 5. Best performance in a film ???? Can't really answer that until you've seen the films! 6. Wh...

Night Fare, Body and Nina Forever I'd say.

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

I don't know, maybe - the micro budget bit is a bit off-putting, but it seems to be getting good reviews so it might be the one to go for. Irritatingly though, I can't seem to find anything about Night Fare, so I don't know whether that's going to be one to miss or a highlight of the fest.

I'd go for Scherzo, looks good.

Final piece of advice needed - Night Fare or The Lesson?

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

What doesn't appeal about Hellions? I thought the trailer looked OK. Once again I'm basing that on critical opinion, reviews pretty scathing so far: http://www.bloodbrothersfilmreviews.blogspot.co.uk/2015/01/hellions-2015.html http://cinehouseuk.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/sundance-2015-review-hellions-...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

Nina Forever I'm giving a wide berth to. Looks like it has potential but won't actually be any good. . Why do you say that? It's got nothing but very positive reviews so far: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/nina_forever/ Main dilemma for me was what to see instead of Hellions, was a choice between ...

Re: Films for Frightfest August 2015

On first glance Nina Forever, We Are Still Here, Deathgasm and Slumlord seem to stand out most, and the lesser ones that I'll either skip or see what's in the other screen look like Hellions, Stung, Road Games and A Christmas Horror Story. Can't be sure about that though and will probably be proved ...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Well that was an utter farce - after queueing for an hour and getting chucked to the back of the queue, I queued for another hour, and go the "wheel of death for 10 minutes, clicked cancel and it let me pick again (booted me to the back first time, so cancel doesn't always work!), then the whee...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

I also had the whirry circle after adding to the basket, clicked back (got an error page) then back again which took me to the page for choosing festival pass/day pass. From there I selected my screen etc all over again, and it then worked PERFECTLY and took me through a very easy payment screen, a...

Re: 2014 All nighter

You're welcome :)

To be fair though other people have posted spoilers in their reviews (there weren't even that many in my post anyway...), and a thread like this reviewing the films is obviously going to contain spoilers, so it's best to avoid reading it if you don't want to see them.

Re: 2014 All nighter

Yeah it was a decent year, the all nighter always seems to be slightly lower in quality of films than the main event, and this was true this year as well, no absolute turds though. 5 films was the correct amount imo, staying away for 6 is a bit of mission. I love the Price Charles as a venue, but pa...

Re: Disco highlights?

Creep, The Canal and Truth Or Dare were all amazing.

Also saw Lemon Tree Passage in the Disco, which I really didn't like, but 3 out of 4 is a good return! Very strong Disco line up this year, and nice to have it big enough to actually be able to get tickets this time around.

Re: Frightfest's worst movie ever?

Before this weekend I would have said it was one of the following 3: - Bubba's Chilli Parlour....yep what's been said basically, it's nice that a load of bartenders made a film in their soare time, and it was sweet that you brought your little daughter along to the premiere. Unfortunately that doesn...
