Re: The Samurai

Wankfest. Should have followed through a bit more on some of its imagery / metaphorical nonsense. Some of it was just laughable (the dance). Looked nice and had an intriguing premise but trans killers are just lazy and borderline offensive now, there's been far better queer-friendly horror lately (S...

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts

Yeah, thanks Chris! Funny to have a 90 minute gap after the very first film, but that space has "PUB" written all over it... Might be a 3 and a half hour gap for me - really can't be arsed with Sin City. First one was over-rated, not expecting much from this, wish it had stayed where it w...

Re: Glasgow 2013 Thanks

It was a pretty consistent lineup (especially compared to last year), but wasn't back to the standard of 2 years ago. Still enjoyed everything except Detention to varying degrees, some more than I expected (Aftershock and ABCs Of Death were pleasant surprises). Great guests and loved Hellfjord, Amer...

Re: The Bay Review

Pretty much agree with what you said, but the film didn't work as well for me. Still a solid 3/5 but could have been much better if it had just stayed still and got on with business a bit more!

Re: Lords Of Salem Review

"Lords of Salem" is a divisive film and I still can't entirely make up my mind on this one. It is probably best described as a total "headf***" of a movie, with a mixture of flaws and unintended (?) silliness, but some really striking imagery which makes it a memorable experienc...

Re: The American Scream - review

Yeah, I hope they do features on their current lives on the DVD. I'll def buy it as I can see myself returning to it with friends each Halloween, some of it was priceless and was great with a crowd. A few cynics at the fest weren't so impressed but I loved it and was glad it went down well!

The American Scream - review

Gonna be putting up reviews for most of the films on the following site, here's one for perhaps my fave film of an excellent fest! http://www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/the-american-scream-2012-film-review-by-david-graham Never ones to do things by half, Americans have made Hallowe'en the biggest festi...

Re: Cancelling a Glasgow ticket

I've got a feeling tickets are non-refundable, especially at this stage, but it's sold out so you should be able to sell it on - what seat do you have? If you're not on it already, go to the facebook page for Glasgore (local horror discussion group), and post it on there, should be someone after one...

Re: FF Glasgow 2013

I'm just a bit disappointed, since there was talk of the festival being even bigger than last year, which I took to mean extra films. Also, the guys mentioned an 'innovative programming strategy' (sic) which I didn't expect to be padding out the schedule with TV episodes. I'm sure Hellfjord is good,...

Re: FF Glasgow 2013

SilverGunnar Hansen- those are good choices but MAMA is supposed to come out FEB 22nd, john dies at the end was at the BFI london film festival (was supposed ot see it), compliance was alos there (i did see it) and Citadel is supposed to come out March 1st. To be honest, it's not a bad line up. ABC...

Re: FF Glasgow 2013

I saw what where showing via the calender but ticket where aren't then around midnight. Not sure about your wording here, ...

Re: FF Glasgow 2013

Sorry to be a bitter cynic here, but what part of 'Tickets go onsale at 9AM' actually translates to 'Tickets go onsale in the middle of the night so that people who work normal hours are going to be left with shit selection when they wake up'? Also, I have to express slight disappointment at the lin...

Excellent opener, despite the second half getting dumb and derivative.
