Psycho Holocaust
Dreadful rip off of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. So ineptly made that it almost defies belief.

Re: Human Centipede II
The BBFC just confirmed to me that the appeal has been made. Now we await the verdict.

Re: Human Centipede II
Well hopefully the appeal has been lodged now because the deadline for appeals in regards to the VAC ended last monday - which was 6 weeks after the rejection.

Re: Human Centipede II
Agree Jonbly, it's pretty easy to see why it was banned going by the text there, but at the same time I'm still eager to see it just to see if it really couldn't have been passed with cuts as has been claimed.

Re: Human Centipede II
I'm sure we'll have a lot more to say about the film when we've seen it but at the moment it's a little difficult to say if the BBFC were right or wrong but they say (amongst other things) that passing the film would be in contravention of their guidelines and the VRA. So presumably if they were to ...

Re: Human Centipede II
I think it's inevitable that there will be rejections from time to time, but at least they are much less frequent now. For example the BBFC rejected 36 films in 1973, which is more than all the rejections in the last 10 years put together. The last time they rejected a black and white film though mu...

Re: Human Centipede II
Mother's Day was the sort of film the BBFC used to cut and even ban but not anymore, as they no longer cut non sexual violence. This is what they say " when portrayals of violence are not linked to sex, the media effects evidence relating to harm is less convincing and the Boards treatment of s...

Re: Human Centipede II
Mother's Day was pretty tame from the viewpoint and classification standards the BBFC currently operate on ie there was little in terms of sexual violence. Actually just brief moments of sexualised terrorisation. HC2 according to the BBFC contains a huge amout of sexually motivated violence and grap...

Re: Human Centipede II
HC2 sounds a bit like Grotesque with its scenes of sexually motivated violence.

Re: Human Centipede II
The BBFC are never very clear as to whom exactly they are referring to in regards to harm. In intereviews I've read they just say "vulnerable adults" and the "wider society" need protecting from the possible harmful effects contained in certain videos and films.

Re: Human Centipede II
Yes it will be very interesting.
Just curious to see the film myself to see if it really could not be passed with cuts as the BBFC claim.

Re: Human Centipede II
Good points, Richard. Maybe the OPA needs a good going over... On a slightly unreleated note, does anyone know why distributors have films rated for "home" viewing ahead of cinema? The BBFC will be stricter on home viewing, and if that results in media controversy, surely it may result in...

Re: Human Centipede II
Good post, Streetrw. Yes I think it's highly unlikely that any cinema would agree to show Human Centipde 2, especially with the possible breaches of the OPA which also applies to cinema. It would in any case be considered too much of a hot potato, even more so than Serbian Film. It would also be hig...
