Re: What happen to the hygiene guy?
Fair point, there is more than a touch of 'school bully' about it. It was obvious that everyone in the cinema felt a bit awkward.

Re: The Man Who Killed Hitler and then The Bigfoot
None of the flashback sequences worked. There was too little shown to support the characters' 'mythical' reputation, basically he took his dog for a walk and brass-necked his way into Hitler's HQ, hardly makes him a super soldier/intellectual heavyweight/top spy. Likewise, the romance didn't hell be...

Re: Fright Fest
This looked to me like a movie that made it onto the running list because of the title rather than any inherent value. I decided that sleep was more important and it should like that was the right decision!

Re: What Keeps You Alive
I liked it, there was a nice 80s vibe running through it, without resorting to the cheesy stuff like John Carpenter style music. The leading man, I thought, was excellent.
That said, I don't think I would go back and watch it again, one viewing was enough to soak up its qualities

What happen to the hygiene guy?
The other night Ian went all medieval on some bloke for his body odour issues, talk about 'naming and shaming'. I really want to know what happened, did the guy slope off never to be seen, has he come back as a refreshed (literally) and revitalised 'new' man, or has he decided to just blag it out? S...
Re: Heretiks
Didn't rate it. Heavy on the atmosphere light on tension, narrative, characterisation', acting etc. Hannah Arteron's comment before hand that she did it because really wanted to a 'Hammer Horror' suggest that she has never seen a Hammer movie. It's a shame, Paul Hyett is a really nice guy and a terr...

BRING BACK THE Q & As
Just watched the Leigh Whannell Q&A and remembered why I have been coming to Frightfest for ten years: great films and great filmmakers. I hated the first two days of 'we can't tell you any spoilers' intros and 'we can't tell you what's next because we signed an NDA' questions. No insight, no ba...

Re: Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich
The dialogue was snappy and there were some fun performances but I was never a fan of the originals so getting me to like a reboot was always going to be a challenge. The little guys just aren't convincing and/scary
Re: Ravers
I wanted to like it but just couldn't. The fake American accents are always a turnoff and the rest of the story was cliched and trite. The director mentioned it went through post-production in a rush and I thought it showed, some scenes just seemed to hang around waiting for a cut
