Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Thats what happened to me vealster. I've joined the queue again after noon. Hopefullly it'll work. The wait time is much longer now so fingers crossed. Oh bugger! That's what I was worried about ... I joined at 11:55, and now my estimated time is going UP rapidly. Do I quit and join again? Or chanc...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Actually the queue time gives you a moment to work out just what screen you want and which Discovery films to target. I'm all sorted in my head now, and looking for hotel possibilities in another window ... damn you quality late-night films! *shakes fist* Weird though ... Can't get used to "que...

Re: FrightFest ticketing 2015

Thanks to the guys for getting the news out so early. I know some of the regulars will be gutted by the extinction of the "Sleepy Queue", but having seen the gradual disintegration of some of the buildings around the square over the past year, and totally knowing what the area around the V...

Re: 2014 All nighter

Really enjoyed the evening. I used to be a shift-worker, so I actually didn't zone-out at any point surprisingly ... although that may have been the 4-hour kip I had on Saturday afternoon! Nice to see the uber-talented Alice Lowe there with "Solitudo". It was actually the first all-nighter...

Re: Lacking in horror this year?

I think it was a good balance this year. It was almost like a Tivo or Sky-plus experience this year, with the opportunity to really personalise your schedule. However I did make much more of an effort this year to attend disco screenings and was really glad that I did. Several of my absolute favouri...

Re: BEST FILM of 2014

"The Guest" and "The Babadook" were good, but I wasn't as massively impressed by those as other people seem to be... I was much more into the old-school type of horror this year with the cracking films "Life after Beth" ("HIIIIKING!!!"), "Late Phases"...

Re: The Arrow Video Ad

Anyone care to do a frame breakdown? What is the film with the scary looking female puppet moving toward the screen? I saw this scene featured in one of the actual FF films this weekend too. I know people have already confirmed, but it is definitely "Black Sabbath". That's one of my all-t...

Re: The House at the End of Time

Definitely one of my favourites of the weekend. I think that everybody who caught this was just blown away by it.
Even if you were a smart-ass who thought you had it all sussed out, there were extra twists to surprise you.
Brilliant stuff. Should have been main-screener...

Re: Life after Beth

I absolutely loved this movie. It might be that I had low expectations and was expecting a twee Hollywood rom-com with just a touch of zom (I know a lot of people were), but it was hilarious and ingenious, and turned out to be my favourite of the fest (just ahead of "Late Phases" and "...

Just to confirm Morralex...
The printed festival guide definitely states that it WILL be 3D across all screens. So .... :geek:

Re: Lineup announced - discussion/thoughts

Thanks for the responses for my viewing dilemma. For various reasons, I have committed to "Wolfcop" (assuming I get the disco ticket), and it will be interesting as to which of the many views expressed to me, that I will end up agreeing with. Frightfest - Always a journey into the unknown!...

Re: Disco screen tickets

I was under the impression (probably false) that we could use the automated machines as well. I take it that a visit to the manned (or womanned) tills is the only option now?

Re: Ticket mixup - Tip Of The Iceberg

Sorry to hear that Jekyll. At the risk of opening old wounds, pretty much the same thing happened to me, and I posted the incident on another thread. I (miraculously) managed to book a weekend pass online, and I was officially mailed that I was in screen 6. However when I picked up the pass it was s...

Re: Finally

Have to admit on a personal basis, because I had to miss the sleepy queue, the initial fiasco around the on-line seat booking soured it a little for me for several reasons, and stopped me getting immediately pepped up for the event ... but that's all behind us now. Working out a viewing schedule (wh...
