Re: The Rough Guide to FrightFest
Ahem.... It will be that the "advance" tickets for August are not yet released, making a similar journey in June (out Wed, back Tue) shows that East Coast do singles at £10.00 each, bookable online for that price. Usually advance tickets are released 12 weeks before the date of travel so k...

Re: The Rough Guide to FrightFest
Never be afraid to speak to anyone, when people say it is a friendly festival, I will vouch for that being true. If you doing the full 5 days you will get well aquainted with those around you, let's be honest 5 days of strangers company and you will inevitably get chatting and get to know more peopl...

Re: The Rough Guide to FrightFest
I got there about 10.30am after getting lost and got a lovely seat in row J next to the very nice Richard, Phil, Giz and Airdog for company.
I suppose if you really had more of a preference or you want group seats, the earlier the better is my advice.

Re: The Rough Guide to FrightFest
I was gonna say £50 sounds a lot If I remember correctly, LSE vacations just take a deposit at first with the rest payable on arrival. So you could just do that this month and start saving a bit for spends this month and next. Then in July the bulk purchase will be the ticket Then in August save up ...

Re: films we just saw
Red This has been sat in my collection for a while so I gave it a spin not knowing quite what to expect. What I really enjoyed is the pace and the menace of the film, feeling how far can you push a person before they finally snap and carry out their retribution. Red is a really sad film and I appro...

Re: horror magazines
I hope that is not the end as it is a magazine I enjoy reading and it would be a shame. Maybe a shake up and a new direction is what it needs?

Re: horror magazines
Woah woah woah! Kirspy? Has that Puppy been influencing you? I do like a magazine as I can share it with non horror people. But if I'm being honest I think in an age where people want information 24/7 that online content will eventually replace many magazines. It's a shame but that's where technolog...

Fangoria although it is rumoured to be on it's last legs
Gorezone though that is not to much peoples liking on here, including mine
Depending on what you want, I tend to find most of my horror news/reviews/previews online, much more upto date and relevent.

I'm sure I have a dark side related book "The Art Of The Video Nasty" which is a comprehensive review of all the banned films, plus all the original VHS cover art.

Re: what are you reading?
Yeah I didn't know that when I bought it though. I had been looking for this for ages to no avail and then found it last week in Forbidden Planet. Awesome book, just upto the emergence of the so called torture porn style of horror and the "splat pack" It does highlight how much horror outp...
