Rumbled!  Come on, even Hitchcock had Topaz . Indeed, and a couple of other duds too. But Bay has Bad Boys , Armageddon , Pearl Harbor , Bad Boys II and Transformers . That's most of his work (unless you include Playboy Video Centerfold: Kerri Kendall , which I'm sure is super, and Lion...

I've got lots of Criterions - including all the Tati, Clouzot and Fellini stuff, a token bit of Bergman, Antonioni and Godard, quite a few Japanese films and of course one of my all-time favourites, The Spirit of the Beehive . Just bought Bicycle Thieves , Thief of Bagdad , La Jetee and Army of Shad...

Well, I've got my copy of Quai des Orfevres and I've just bought some more Criterions today, so I'm doing my bit to stop Bay. No Renoir boxsets though.

Um... what? There were some screaming fire victims... is that what you mean?
The gibbering, arm-flapping oh-so-very-evil 12 year old Anna Esseker character. OK, so she didn't crawl out of a TV set.

Oh, sure. Transformers was a headache in physical form. But the man does have incredible visual panache and his action and when he's firing on creative as opposed to monetary cylinders it's extremely rewarding. His cultural rep doesn't help when discussing him though. A pocket guide to when he's &q...

snippets - some will be in the finished piece some not. the stuff screened is but a couple of percent of the amount of content we have - around 100 interviews covering a lot of ground, most if not all not shown in the footage Good! The reason I asked was that it seemed to jump around from topic to ...

Rickjames has summed it up so perfectly there's really no need to say anything else. But.... What a load of tripe it was. The original Korean film was far too clever for American audiences (not that it was a work of genius or anything) so let's take out all the good bits and replace them with Jack B...

Was it an actual "chunk" of the film or a bunch of "taster" snippets temporarily edited together?

Bitch!
I picked up on that too, but thought I might have missed some dialogue cos I kept falling asleep.
Ah, but don't forget she was an evil emotionless doppelganger. Even if she didn't know it.

It wasn't exactly what I expected - it was in fact surprisingly better.

Fair play to PWSA - he's a bullshitter who's been responsible for some terrible twaddle, but he's a much, much better action director than the likes of Michael Bay.

Why didn't I dislike the teens as much as everyone else seemed to? Maybe you dislike all teens equally? I've never really bought into the notion that you should make the characters obnoxious so it's fun to see them killed (although it can work occasionally). It just makes the film as a whole...

In many ways it was better than I expected, and it did "feel" reasonably faithful to the original story even though much had been changed.

It wasn't at all scary or suspenseful though, apart from the one scene where they went to snoop around Vinnie's apartment.

I know a lot of people liked it, but this one really didn't work for me at all. The opening scenes were promising, but once the busload of "troubled kids" appeared (yaaawwwnnnn....) it all went wrong. Steven Goldmann did seem a good chap, but I think he messed everything up. He went on abo...

I think we were too kind to it because Alan Jones likes the film(makers) and Adam Gierasch is quite amusing (if you're a fan of Gilbert Gottfried). It's incompetently made tripe with a feeble plot and rotten acting but a couple of funny moments. That's it. Slapping a few bright colours around does n...
