Got to pick seats - cards declined (they all have sufficient funds).
A disgrace.

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
Vue management have clearly made a decision in advance not to sell festival passes over the phone - so why not put a message to that affect on the phone line before we queue? 10p a minute, that's why.

You were lucky - I got told to call back "in the week!"danvestite wrote:I've had the same. Call back in an hour, they said.
I have to say Vue's customer service leaves a lot to be desired too. 35 minute wait to get no answer at all, not so much as an apology.

Agreed. Vue have seriously let FF down here.BristolHorror wrote:Yeah - it's not seriously high volume though. It's not like millions of people are attempting to use it...
It's just poor planning (on behalf of Vue - obviously not FF).
Has anyone managed to buy a festival pass online yet?

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
Just to confirm what others have been saying: I finally got through on the phones and was told they can't sell festival passes over the phone. Website is still broken; they say it's the weight of traffic.
Jeez - how hard can it be to give someone £340?!

What a shambles. The FF ticketing page lists a number for phone bookings.domdunc wrote:just got told on the phone they can't book festival passes only day passes? doesn't sound right to me...

Looks like Vue are making 10p a minute out of all of us on the 'phone due to the website not working. Hmmm...

As of 11am, the Vue website is stating that tickets are on sale in 2 hours - does that mean they're available at 1pm, not noon as expected?

Re: How Film4 FrightFest will work in 2014
Sounds like a lot of thought has gone into how to make the enforced changes work. I doubt there's a perfect solution, but this should be the best way forward. Can't wait to see how it all pans out.

Re: Was FF 13 any worse or better than other years?
Great post!
One way to up those averages and avoid some of the “barrel scrapers” would be to reduce the duration of the festival. On balance though I think I’d still rather a five day jolly and risk some stinkers than have it cut short.

Thank goodness common sense has prevailed - shame it had to go this far though.

I too missed this, and having subsequently spoken to the man himself a couple of times after the event at FF I regret it. He seemed a very cool bloke.

I thought they were not as strong as last years, which were really great. Still some very entertaining pieces though, and I agree Brutal Relax was great fun.
