I agree there wasn't nearly as much gore as Evil Aliens, possibly part of aiming at a slightly broader cinema audience and keeping the certificate down to a 15. The death of Patrick at the hands of the Snipper was originally intended to be the longest stabbing scene in cinema history at over two min...

But i did buy it on bluray :) I can see Grindhouse's earlier point that it feels like a rushed release in terms of the overall package. There are some good extras: the deleted scenes and a great gag reel. But i was underwhelmed by the final artwork, and there didn't seem to be as much "making ...

Well that's got things off to a great start! One person who didn't like the film and one who hasn't seen it but doesn't like the dvd package. Last time i looked on this forum there seemed to be some frightfest support for the film and it certainly seemed to go down well at the q&a screening at t...

This last week or so: Death Wish - "calm down dear, it's only a moustachioed vigilante". I gotta love this film; trashy, dead pan, uneven, manipulative and sensational. It's really not that good, but i don't care. Jeff Goldblum is hilarious. Bats: Human Harvest - allegedly "elite"...

Doghouse Director's Cut?

Is anybody else interested in seeing a Director's Cut of Jake West's Doghouse released on dvd? I believe it's Sony we have to convince! For the sake of "declareing my interests" i should say that i have invested a few quid in Doghouse shares, got to meet all the great people involved eithe...

Just watched Necromentia , Quite good looking, but i can't say i followed the plot enough for the sudden ending to make perfect sense. also a really solid and uplifting British Heist movie called Daylight Robbery which i really enjoyed, i think everybody secretly loves the idea of robbing banks, the...

Excellent attitude, I've just bought Death Wish and the original Inglorious B*****ds, in order to further my exploitation education.

Prior to reading the third and final volume, i'm re-reading the first two volumes of Sea of Red brilliant Vampire Pirate graphic novel set both in 16th century and modern times. Great story with plenty of dark twists, but my favourite detail is the money grabbing, power mad film director called &quo...

Just watched Vanguard and Perfect Creature.
Both i was watching more for the production design and atmosphere than anything else, the former was a little disappointing but the latter far exceeded expectations and had quite a lot of pretty good gothic, almost steampunk styling.

Hellride and Choke
neither were brilliant films, but i really enjoyed them both.

Really liked the look of Melvin Junko's 2 week roundup earlier, Robot Jox and Vixen are underated classics, albeit of the trashy variety.

Carriers was good, but far too much of a slow burn for last film.
It should have swapped places with Wrong Turn 3, the noisy, hillbilly, hollyoaks nonsense would have kept the a.d.d. contingent happy till breakfast.

Just rewatched Repo Man, that i last saw when i was far too young to get it.
It's a mental little classic, and well worth 99p on pristine vhs- i love charity shops.

I thought Carriers was the best film of the night. I really like films that try to take an intelligent look at what the end of the world will look like after the event. Opening with a Mad Max reference was a great way of immediately announcing a post appocalyptic road movie, and denying us the colou...
