FrightFest 2021 Schedulers

Just adding the scheduler post for this year for everyone to post their, well... schedulers. To get the ball rolling here's my usual scheduler for avoiding clashes or repeats. As ever, the timetable is likely still liable to change (slots still to be filled and some films may shift- heck, I'm not ev...

Re: Frightfest Halloween date

Wow- yeah, you’re right. I just always remembered it as being before :s

Just wish it didn’t clash with the fireworks I guess :(

Frightfest Halloween date

Not sure if this has always been the case but, for as long as I've been going to the FF Halloween event, it has been held *before* Halloween. Just seems a bit weird to hold it afterwards for this year. Also, there's the added frustration that we've all had to decide between this or fireworks display...

Re: 2019 Ticket info.

I won’t reiterate what everyone else has said. Frankly, I wouldn’t blame Ian if he steered clear of this thread due to the sheer ire the booking process has drawn this year. Last year was fine for me (ticket booked by 12:03), the year before that scarily fast (seeing those dots go red in real-time) ...

Re: Best 5 of the festival

Either I was the only person here to see it, or I completely misjudged it but I’m amazed nobody else is ranking The Laplace’s Demon. Such a smart premise, brilliantly constructed with clockwork precision and looks straight out of the 30s or 40s. It had a real Fermat’s Room or (retro) Cube feel to i...

Re: BRING BACK THE Q & As

I also disagree with the whole ‘if you have a question you can ask the filmmaker in the foyer’ thing. I often don’t have a question (or have the nerve to ask) but always love to hear other peoples’ questions as they’ve often spotted something I didn’t and bring out extra interesting nuggets about th...

Re: The Laplace's Demon

Actually my film of the festival this one. I’m a sucker for this kind of self-contained and claustrophobic thriller. It was so intricately put together it seemed to me like something Christopher and Jonathon Nolan might make.

Such a shame so few others seem to have seen it however :(

Re: Discovery/first blood tks

Admittedly I’ve only been doing this about 7 years but this is unquestionably the best booking system I’ve experienced FF using in this time. At its worst, I recall a system where you were in a virtual queue for half an hour then chose your seat only to get an obscure error nobody understood and thr...

Re: TBC Saturday 25th

Curious... I wonder how they gauge which screenings are popular? Right now it looks like most stuff is booked up.

Would be cool if FF ran a poll or something on Twitter to decide :#

Re: Discovery/first blood tks

Not the speediest of processes this year sadly- I was averaging 10 minutes a ticket for the first hour. If the booking system struggles this much, would it be worth considering staggering the ticket releases somehow? In any case, once the system got back up to speed, I did eventually manage to get t...
