McReadys Beard wrote:Have to disagree with your opinion on Michael Mann Dragosani. Yes he is a visual director and his use of light in every one of his movies is fantastic, but he is also an actor's director as well. Taking away DeNiro & Pacino (who would be worth watching together even if they were just reading from a telephone directory!) the amount of actors who have raised their game when they have been directed by Mann is incredible. Daniel Day Lewis, Tom Cruise, Jamie Foxx, Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe and Will Smith have all put in electrifying performances in his films. would go so far as to say that I havent actually watched a bad Michael Mann film (and I am including Miami Vice in that statement)
i couldnt agree more, The last of the mohicans is an oustanding film, along with the insider,Heat,Collateral,Ali you can even put miami vice in there i love it, i reckon lots of folks expected crocket n tubbs again like in the 80s,but i think its a great crime film but out of his crime trilogy its at the bottom beaten by collateral and thats only beaten by Heat, stick that gun battle scene on loud and hear your neighbourhood sound like downtown baghdad, superb director who really did make the best version of red dragon, manhunter.
Brian Cox has and always will be Hannibal Lecktor to me,not that imposter hopkins :)

oh and dont bother with the theatrical cut of miami vice, get the directors it has a commentary and extra scenes.

Bitch Slap!

I've read that a Faster Pussycat remake is on the way next year. Until then, this one looks .... interesting.
Stunts by Zoe Bell and Make-Up FX by the underrated Tony Gardner. It all looks very Grindhouse too...
