I would rather be hated every damn day of my life for being real than loved for being something I'm not...
Slashfilm is reporting that Darren Aronofsky is circling the proposed 3D Robocop remake. While I'd rather this didn't happen at all having Aronofsky onboard would hopefully mean it wouldn't be a PG-13 fairground ride.

I've just read that the Robocop remake might actually be more of a sort of sequel. Arrow in the head.com posted this from the "loglines" (whatever a logline is)
Present day Los Angeles, 20 years after the termination of the RoboCop program, the city decides to reinstate the program

Bring her to me, you bum. I'll take care of business.

Yet another remake...
MTV readies 'Rocky Horror' redux
MTV is doing the time warp on a remake of 1975 cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
Lou Adler, exec producer of the original film, is partnering with BermanBraun and Fox Television Studios on the new rendition.
Two-hour remake will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien but may also include music not featured in the original.
Helmer and casting decisions have yet to be announced.
Fox is in discussions with BSkyB and Sky Movies to co-finance and distribute the telepic abroad.
Timetable for the start of production hasn't been established yet but the partners aim to move forward quickly once the final elements are in place.
"I'd like to see it shown a year from this coming Halloween, but that's up to MTV," Adler said.
BermanBraun principal Gail Berman will exec produce the project along with partner Lloyd Braun. Berman has been attached to a "Rocky Horror" remake dating back to her tenure as Fox programming chief (Daily Variety, July 1, 2002).
The original "Rocky Horror," starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Meatloaf, has grossed $140 million in domestic box office over the years, primarily from the wallets of youthful audience members who have shown up for midnight screenings over the past three decades.

Not a horror but...
New Line Cinema has made a deal with Hairspray mastermind John Waters to write a treatment for a sequel to the 2007 movie starring Zacquisha, based on the Broadway musical, based on his beloved '80s film starring Ricki Lake.
Planning to return are director-choreographer Adam Shankman, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and Tony-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who will write new songs for the film.
No cast has been engaged yet, and none of the stars of Hairspray had sequel options.
Uh oh!
You want Zac back?????
It'll probably cost you a lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$!
"I never thought of musicals as franchises, but it certainly worked with ‘High School Musical,’ and the idea of working with that cast again, and creating new material and music, is a dream come true," says director Shankman. "John (Waters) has such an original and extraordinary voice; we all can’t wait to see what he has come up with."
The studio hopes to ahave the film out by summer of 2010.

‘Goonies’ Sequel An ‘Absolute Certainty,’ Says Astin
Back in August, the “Goonies” rumor mill went into overdrive when Corey Feldman revealed to MTV News that talks had resumed for a possible animated sequel to the classic 80s flick. Now his co-star Sean Astin has weighed in, exclaiming that as far as he’s concerned, “Goonies 2” is an “absolute certainty.”
“The writing’s on the wall when they’re releasing the ["Goonies"] DVD in such numbers,” enthused the fan-favorite actor, who garnered acclaim in such films as “Rudy” and “The Lord of the Rings” and is now appearing in the baseball epic “The Final Season.”
According to Feldman, numerous plotlines are floating around, with his favorite involving the children of the original Goonies embarking on an adventure of their own. That idea’s a home run for Astin, who says the real-life growth of the actors should factor heavily into a “Goonies 2.”
“Steven [Spielberg] and Dick [Donner] and all the powers that be … they really feel like the thing that made the movie strong was that it was about kids, so they really want to make the next movie about kids…the next generation of Goonies. And they’ve had a hard time tackling that.”
Like Feldman, Astin sees the passing of the torch concept to be a logical progression for the franchise. “I have three children,” he said, “and Corey’s got a kid now [too]. So as we now all have kids who are coming into the age that we were when we made the movie, it’s more likely to me that they’ll figure out how to design a story that will satisfy the older audience in terms of connecting with the original 1985 Goonies, and then [also] create this new thing.”
While Astin admits it’ll be difficult to recapture the magic, he’s confident that the “creative lightning” will strike that allows the project to move forward. “I remain as open-minded and willing to participate as I have ever been,” he declared.

News with Troll Remake... Ali Lohan is now out of the film (this can only be a good thing)
Lohan's Sister Caught Up In Porn Drama
Lindsay Lohan's mum has been left red faced once again after her teenage daughter Ali was allowed to audition for a porn film director - and the meeting was captured on camera.
Ali Lohan's audition for new movie Troll was captured for reality TV show Living Lohan, but no one knew that Peter Davy, the man behind the film, was the director of X-rated movies like Voodoo Lust and Dreams in the Forbidden Zone.
Lohan's spokeswoman says, "Ali had no idea about Davy's past. If she did, she never would have auditioned for him."
