I don't...there's always Vincent Price. Different -- hugely different -- class of wit, granted, but there's a huge precedent from EC to Amicus and beyond.
Not at the level of a mall rat t-shirt though. Or a mug. Or a bumper sticker.

Interesting!
Jackie Early Haley in Wes Craven's 1984 'A Nightmare on Elm Street?

This is an interesting story (rumor) that is making the rounds on the forums and boards and we decided to do a little investigation to see how true it is...

According to the rumors and the ever reliable Wikepedia page, Jackie Early Haley and his pal Johnny Depp went to the audition together for the original 1984 A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET. Unfortunately for Jackie, it was Depp who was spotted by director Wes Craven, who asked him if he would like to read for a part. The rest as we say is history. Sounds like a great story doesn't it? The new Freddy Krueger had ties to the original. Almost makes the fanboy inside of all of us back off a bit and give Jackie some street creed (as if he needs it) but you get our point.

So after contacting Jackie through his official website we finally received an answer back to the rumor. It is indeed true. He and Depp did venture on the Nightmare set and it was Depp that Craven turned to for a role in the what was then though of as a B horror flick.

And the rest as they say, is history. Look for Jackie to finally make his much anticipated Nightmare debut April 30th in theaters everywhere!
