Harpers Island

The slasher hits the weekly TV show format Sunday BBC 3 at 9.

Might fill a hole in the bleak autumn line ups

Saw double episodes on Sunday. Looks rather promising. Some good deaths. Shame the characters don't really stand out.

I KNOW it has that Sunset Beach appeal... as long as no skellys turn up with a mystical amulet type thing...

wonder if Sunset beach is availible on DVD

I've seen a couple of episodes and the show is pretty decent. It's written and produced by Ari Schlossberg (the guy who wrote the De Niro movie "Hide and Seek")

I hated it initially, thought it was sub Melrose Place trash with the occasional dose of mild death. However around the third episode I became completely hooked. The deaths have got increasingly inventive and bizarre, and the characters who seem to belong in The Bold and The Beautiful gett weeded out pretty fast. Now I am actually worried for the remainder (yes even the foppy English guy).

It's made a believer out of me, frankly I'd far rather watch this than another bad slasher franchise relaunch a la Friday the 13th.

I just caught up with this - recorded the first 6 eps and watched them all in one lump - really liking it so far :) Must admit the guy killed with a harpoon had me thinking back to David Hess and the "suicide" note in Smash Cut :D

I actually enjoyed Harper's Island, it made a change for US television to do a slasher-esque mini series. Plus I've been a Christopher Gorham fan since Jake 2.0
