AMER (Bitter) giallo tribute movie...

Post by sherbetbizarre »

Just saw this in Alan's Sitges report...
And what was my favourite Sitges movie? Easy. Helene Cattet and Bruno Forzani’s AMER, which is an immaculate and flawless tribute to the 70s giallo movie. Essentially what the two Belgian-based filmmakers do is recreate every giallo motif, cliché and visual code from the vintage Italian back catalogue...

You've heard a ton about Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani's colorful French thriller Amer, but now we've got an exclusive clip from the Argento-esque flick...

No! :P I want to hear her suddenly go "Oh... I'm going for a cig!" Then return and spill her coffee over a stranger and SarahP

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt but I'm not looking forward to it...

Here's an in-depth article for those who've seen the movie...

Amer: The Three Faces of Ana

Agree? Disagree? "Wow, that was pretentious"?

Thanks for that link, a great article and I now realise i do not know enough about the films involved. This movie is so well constructed I'm so glad I read this. Yes I think it's pretentious but now i love it and get it!

I now know why Alan loves it so much.
