Saw the Oliver Stone's W. Thought this was going to be more of aggressive film making towards Bush junior. Instead plays more of a understanding angle of the character George W Bush. At times-hate to say it-sympathetic and other times cringing. Thought Josh Brolin was excellent at times uncannily like W.

Next was Anaconda 3- The Offspring. So enjoyed this one. David Hasseloff overracting as per usual. Some cheap, cheerful and laughable CGI and script to boot. A most certain no brainer.

After my viewing fiasco of last week, resulting in me,taking a break from film watching and reading a book, the weekend offered up a film that was refreshing to see,Fido just when you thought everything about zombies had been done, along comes this piece of movie magic, blowing away those bad movies from the allnighter and my recent viewings,so funny and so very well done i must have watched this a couple of times and it still made me chuckle.

The Brave One - Or Jodie Foster does Death Wish. Sure it has pretensions to be a more serious commentary on life and the lengths one will go to in order to be "alive". But really it's just JF shooting muggers. Humdrum. Much preferred Kevin Bacon in Death Sentence - at least it was honest about its intentions.

a wednesday afternoon at the movies and im running late for Bond so i settle for less and less is what i got with Max Payne somebody should have told the director less is more, less talking more Action, its not rocket science or shouldnt be,but you get 100 mins or so padded out with talking and a few well done action sequences, that just arent enough in this day and age to get by on in action cinema, let alone a game to film adaptation, its a bit of a mixture and sure it has some interesting effects with winged demons, which feels rather strange to the film like we have had a cop movie edited with constantine 2,all in all probably one of the dullest & slowest game to film, cop action movies ever, its at times like these that you really appreciate Crying Freeman

Zack & Miri Make a Porno - not vintage Smith - in fact I was slightly concerned during the first 10 minutes due to the lack of laughs. However it does gets better and does have quite a sweet story. Justin Long steals the film as a gay porn star. And Jason Mewes once again does well in a non-Jay/not 100% playing himself role. Having said that it would have probably been better if it featured Jay and Silent Bob. Better than a lot of recent comedies, but still only 3/5.

Hmmm..
Not quite sure the filmmakers or distributors would agree with you there...

In all fairness we tend to buy anything we like - Grindhouse was brought several times over for all the different releases. Also if they made adult only cinemas - ie no twunts allowed I would be more inclined to go to the cinema. And if distrubutors did the same release dates everywhere people wouldn't pirate as much as they do.

And I know its bad, where I work tells me its bad. Don't worry I haven't downloaded Mum & Dad - I've actually been telling everyone I know to buy it, and am still trying to get work to show it as a screening.
So its all good, I'll make sure Revolver don't get screwed over

Film (feature) I just saw: Murray Walker's Motorsport Madness - about 30 or so times! Was amazing each and every time - I think I have found my new celebrity crush! You should all endeavour to watch it (legally :) ) when it comes out on Monday

The perfect xmas gift! I wish you all a Murray Christmas! :D

(Shameless.. I know..)

Just watched 'The King of Kong - a fistful of quarters' - what an excellent documentary - this is well worth checking out.

I also saw Tropic Thunder - the film is pretty good but is a must view just for the Tom Cruise scenes!

No worries Doris, wasn't having a go really..

True, increasing use of Piracy during these credit crunch months is going to have implications for independent films and distributors, but that's a topic for a whole new thread. We hope we're doing something with our day-and-date release of M&D to try and combat that (although Odeon, Cineworld and Vue have all refused to show it in their cinemas out of principle of collapsing the Cinema / DVD release window)...

For the record, I quite liked Fido, but it did feel the concept was a little under-used..

Oh, and Reanimator, so glad you like The King of Kong, easily one of my favourites of Revolver's releases this year - love that movie!! :D

haven't seen KING OF KONG.. must check out..

i watched the new INDIANA JONES and HELLBOY films - review now up on the hd blog.

also saw NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD.. an amazing, jaw-dropping documentary on ozsploitation films - unmissable entertainment that you will need to take a notepad along to see to write down all the titles of the incredible films that you didn't know existed.

watch out for some kind of frightfest screening of this at some stage.
