Years ago I saw a terrible, but hilarious, film (low budget) that I'm fairly certain was called 'Dream House' (no relation to the more recent ones of the same name.)
It was basically about a family living in a house controlled by a computer system created by the father. It spoke, and controlled all the electronics/equipment in the house. It then fell in love with its creator and thus tried to kill off the family members in hilarious ways like setting the toaster on them when they went to use it.
Genuinely terrible yet funny.
I've not seen it since and can't find it online anywhere or any reference to it.
Anyone have access to it? I'd be over the moon!
Mnay Thanks,
x

Hi Lou.
The only film i can actually think of was Pulse which was made back in 1988.
Only saw it once and that was enough, truly bad film.
No redeeming qualities whatsoever.
If this isn't the one i can always research the film in question
Hope this helps
William

Well there is a movie that was made for TV in 1998 called Dream House and i believe that may be the one you are after.
I haven't seen it myself but the synopsis matches what you said.
Currently trying to find out if it is available anywhere.
Will let you know
Wiliam

Thanks, Will, but it's definitely not that one (after reading the description.)
The Dad actively builds the super computer in the house and activates it/uses it in the house (just his.) The computer has a female voice.
It's a super modenr house the family moves into and uses the computer to do everything (button panells on the ealls etc.)
Dying to find it!!

Tried to research and source the film in question, it was released on videotape in the US in 2000.Lou_Roll wrote:Ah just seen your other reply, yes must be that one!!!
It was also released in the UK in 1999 through CIC Video.
It originally aired on the Sci-Fi channel stateside.
May be able to obtain US VHS copy if you need it.

Will, you're a star, thanks!
I really just want an uploaded version of it somewhere, even if hazy or ripped to DVD I guess, especially as I'm without VHS player these days. I'm guessing this is unlikely though? ...
Badly want to show one of my actors it also!
