Inspired by Giles' blog the other week on Anthony Hickox, I ordered Waxwork from Amazon for £3. You can also go and physically buy it in HMV for £16, but that would just be silly. The recent Lionsgate release is in the correct ratio; the earlier version is in 4:3.
I was also toying with the Friday The 13th box, but since [1] I already have Part 1, [2] they're re-issuing most of the sequels next February with extra features, and [3] I don't much care for Parts 6, 7 and 8, I decided to wait a couple of months and pick up the new versions of 2 through 5 individually. Part 5 isn't great, but it's special to me as it's the first one I saw in a cinema (1500 seats, and I was the only one in there). And once they stopped hiring Harry Manfredini to score them.....

That recent UK Friday 13th box also is missing the extra disc full of (admittedly rather hastily put together) making-of material, unrated gore footage and retrospective gubbins. Parts 3, 6,7 and 8 have audio commentaries in the US box too. Which are diverting enough. And I grabbed the Jason Goes To Hell and Jason X Special Editions in L.A. recently for about 4 quid each.
I guess I'll probably only upgrade top get the 3D version of the third in their new incarnations.
This week I grabbed:
Oasis Of Fear
Helldrivers
This Sporting Life
Chocolate
Onibaba Masters Of Cinema
L-enfance-nue Masters Of Cinema
Good to be able to spread a little Hickox love as well, Richard!

jason goes to hell is a duff sequel and really sits only to promote, the freddy vs jason idea 10 yrs before it was done, but will it be the directors cut, which had previously only been available on ntsc laserdisc.
part 6 is my fave of later sequels and the early parts 2 3 & 4 have that really raw feel to them.
