Oh I forgot one that I bought from forbidden planet - i also picked up some sort of anthology of Briam Lumley's work - which I have never read before (Had 'necroscope' on my shelf forever and never read it for some reason)

Never got on with SH, the idea of killer slugs was just too far-fetched even for me! Spawn did have some creepy moments, though.

I always half-assumed that the character of Garth Marenghi was based on Shaun Hutson - there are definitely some similarities...

Finished Let The Right One in, and am now onto some random london crime book. Looking for the next one to read if anyone has any suggestions. I do like true crime stuff if anyone has read anything good...

Just finished Let the Right One In... now onto The Devil Rides Out by Dennis Wheatly. After that I've got Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Naked Lunch and We Have Always Lived in the Castle to get through...

Mr S has just read 'The Devil Rides Out' and I'm due to start it shortly - he did read out some choice passages which seem to thinly conceal Mr. Wheatley's un-PC views about other races - the one that sticks in my mind is someone being referred to as 'a bad Black' and that he wanted to 'shoot him on sight'

Ah I know what you mean... I'm not that far into it but it isn't very PC at all. A sign of when it was written I guess. I picked it up randomly in Waterstones and had to look up when it was first published as some of the descriptions of people are pretty bad. Still I shall carry on with it and try to ignore some of the language...

I have just started to get back into reading for pleasure,so many years spent reading for studies kind of burnt me out,that and dvd watching,so i picked up on Saturday Blockbuster by Tom Shone,a book well worth reading,about the blockbuster films and the rise and fall and rise of them over the past thirty years.
just started the peter jackson biography by Brian Sibley,and sitting on my shelf is the biography of a famous porn star waiting to be read,and i see stephen king has a new book out in hardback

Just finishing off 'Traige' at the moment, three stories with the same basic concept in one book. One written by Jack Ketchum, one by Richard Laymon and one by Edward Lee.

I have Scott Speiglman (or something) 'Infected' lined up to read next, then Parasite Eve. Looking forwards to them.

I have a massive pile of books in my 'to read pile'. Its so sucky, there isn't enough time to do everything I want.

Just put down Nemesis by Jo Nesbo (if they every film a Harry Hole TV series he should be played by Ray Stevenson from Rome.... maybe if Wallander is a success).

Started The Summer Book by Tove Jansson this morning.

Read that a few months ago, it's pretty good.

Just recently finished 'In The Night Room' by Peter Straub, which was a real page-turner and a really good concept for a book - although I got the feeling he was losing momentum towards the end.

Now reading stories from The First Pan Book of Horror Stories and working my way through the huge collection I've amassed on eBay.

Just started Stephen King's new one, Duma Key- Didn't know what to expect at first, but shaping up to be another corker! Was left a little confused by his last one (Cell) which was very much the same ilk as recent release The Happening.. but this one looks much more promising

The novel dealing with post-trauma memory loss, and the heartache and frustration of rediscovering your identity as a middle aged man, who appeared to have it all before his accident - well that's what appears to be the gist from reading the first two chapters and the blurb on the back, but I have a feeling it will turn into something much darker

Looking forward to getting stuck into this one
