Hey Tommy Boy, I think I just realised what the message is. It's

War is stupid
And people are stupid
And love means nothing
In some strange quarters
War is stupid
And people are stupid
And I heard them banging
On hearts and fingers

Or maybe it was:

I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me

Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up I can not see
That there is not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please god, wake me

Back in the womb it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live

Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please god,wake me
Now the world is gone Im just one
Oh god, help me hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please God help me

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell

Landmine has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell

But anyway.... I kind of liked Shadow.

The plot was absolute nonsense, the performances were terrible.... but the skinny Nazi guy was genuinely creepy and I thought the film looked amazing.

Not sure if credit should go to the director or to the cinematographer.

I did think it was really cool that Zampaglione had written it with his old dad. Hard to imagine doing anything like that with my dad, who must be a similar age. :)

Started of mediocre then improved when it went Hostel stylee.
Loved the ending, not sure about any particualr political messages but i saw it as him cheating death . Which is why he survived with the loss of his legs whilst the other two died.
It was not in your face obvious but the evil guy had a cloak and a scythe at the end , hence Death/Grim Reaper .
So reminded me of Jacobs Ladder and Hostel in places which is not a bad thing, a good movie only let down by the ridicoulous volume.
Someone obviously thought we should be deafened during this luckily i had earplugs , a shame as it was also a great soundtrack.

Well this was really stunning to look at, and it was very slickly made and certainly watchable.....BUT just about everything remined me of something I'd seen before - the first half hour of fleeing-from-the-thugs-in-the-forest just remined me of a cross between Man Hunt and King Of The Hill from last year, the Mortis guy was just a cross between his character from Passion Of Christ and that crappy deformed gnome from Creep, and as has been said, the end was totally nicked from Jacob's Ladder.

At the end of the film I thought I'd seen something really good, then reflected on it for a while and released it was pretty "meh" overall.

Nice have some nice icky scenes though - the guy who'd been electrocuted being pulled off the bed and half his back remaining stuck to the end, and the eye lid cutting.

Also even though the film wasn't that great, the Italian director's enthusiasm was nice to see, and the way he got everyone on stage afterwards was amusing!

Meh, was hoping for more but got a decent if unremarkable movie that seemed to have been made by Jacob's Ladder/Aphex Twin fanboy! There were some effective moments - loved the effects after the eyelid removal - but it didn't engage me. Maybe that has something to do with the giggling fit the girl next to me decided to have during the cooking sequence when the killer first turned up, who knows

I liked this, it's not really anything new but it looked good and it was a little bit different. Not the strongest story but an enjoyable way to spend 90 mins of my life.

Yes what message? Wondering if I was watching the same movie :D
Avoid nutter with big guns and a big dog?
Mountainbiking in the back of beyond is a bad idea especially when your bike chain and leg gets busted and you go hopping along to the deserted house belonging to the psycho-madman?
War , what is War? What is it good for? absolutely nothing ;)

War isn't good....but it does make you have cool dreams about rescuing a chick from a pair of thugs and some palid frog-licking nutjob borrowed from The Passion Of Christ :D

I almost forgot, this film did actually have one very good moment - when the guys walking around the evil bloke's lair, and he sees the huge picture of Hitler, and next to that a huge picture of George W Bush, amusing.

Reading back through this thread is pretty entertaining... how dumb do some people think we are?
