The first 30mins or so. Thought great setting amongst the woods. With the stunning sight of the mist surrounding the mountains back drop. Firstly I thought it will be a ghost story. Then the film veered off into a segment of grim reaper type character who has a not enviable collection of death and disaster from over the years. Then a Jacob's Ladder style ending.

Not sure what story the film is trying to tell. In the QA the director was bundle of energy and a shame his vision did not transpire on screen.

Took a while to get going but was pretty good with a few nasty moments.

Great cinematography and one or two nasty moments, but on the whole I didn't like this. It just seemed to be a re-hash of other film's ideas (I'm glad I'm not the only one who picked up on the Jacob's Ladder rip). I was hoping, as the film reached its climax, that the ending was going to pull the rug out from under me and suddenly make the previous 80 minutes worthwhile, but unfortunately the ending was shit. And that just makes me dislike the film more.

Slightly lame ending aside, I liked the film. It helped that I knew nothing about it, and for the first 20 minutes I was under the impression that it was a "Most Dangerous Game" sort of affair.

Decent plot if not a little Jacobs Ladderesque with decent acting, the one thing that made this movie dull was the pacing which made it to long winded.

I thought this was forgetable. Horrible soundtrack, crap storyline and the whole Nazi stuff was just silly.

Up until the end I was enjoying it. The creeping about in the dark was genuinely unsettling and I don't recall seeing anyone grilled before. Also, the eyelid!!!!

Sadly though it then blows it big time with no attempt to even make the Iraq reveal look anything like Iraq. Like the Directors leather trousers, I guess it seemed a good idea at the time. That being said if he made a slasher film with a linear plot I bet it would be awesome.

*** Possible spoilers ***

Good suspense and sequences early on, but the twist ending felt too much like a Jacob's Ladder rip-off. Perhaps focusing on the "dreamworld" would have been more interesting?? Some interesting political messages in there though. 7.5 / 10

I completely agree, the political message is something really rare in a horror film. It adds something more that makes you think. Even the photography and the score were great, despite the audio that was a bit too loud.
Anyway, an impressive example of horror by the new Italian generation.
